When we had Pack and Patterson, all you did was moan they weren’t good enough, and now you’re holding them up as the yardstick to be measured against… NP cast Paterson aside when he came in last season, so the blame for that is on him.
The point remains, why when we are on top, does NP repeatedly get them to sit deep? That has to come from the manager telling the team to do it.
I keep asking the gambling intelligent one, does he think that NP's formation, style and tactics gets the best from the players we have?.......unfortunately he's gone a bit Pot, Kettle Black!! :emoticon-0105-wink:

We were not "holding on" Saturday, unlike previous games I wasn't terrified about conceding a last minute goal, we were on the front foot looking for the winner for a change and I highly doubt that NP tells the players in the second half to drop deep and panic every time the ball comes into the box, a bit of concentration and composure from the defence and we wouldn't have conceded that goal, they need to be better mentally.
IMO we allowed them far too much of the ball in the second half, instead of building to put the game to bed......We need to start controlling games better, especially at home..

Try as hard as I might I can't see what Bakinson brings to the game and I wonder why he still gets picked? To me he always seems to be away from the play and sometimes his tackling is poor and yet he still has a difficult time going and getting the ball back. Surely Massengo is a much better choice because you never accuse him of not putting in a shift and my first impressions of him were not good but now I have warmed to his enthusiasm. We need nothing but 3 points against Stoke to get on track.

ASSUMING that the players ARE playing to Nige's instructions (I find it incredible to think that they would NOT be - although it IS possible....), then we have fallen foul to this time and time again. Nige isn't stupid and he will recognise this - yet we still do it.
Giving Nige the benefit of the doubt for the moment, I can only assume that we do this (drop back and defend after going ahead) because we are not FIT enough to sustain pressing for 90 minutes. If this is the case then that's slightly encouraging; fitness can be worked on, whereas raw ability can't.

We need more galvanise!!!
First 30 mis of 2nd half they upped their % by 10-12% scored and then we galvanised ...last 15 mins.. whilst conceeding minutes of possession for 15 mins we had the highest concentration of shots /on target/ and a corner than other time in the game! replicate that 15 mins x 6 and we would be 24 shots / 12 on target / and 6 corners! ....

And yet he dropped HNM on Saturday and played Bakinson.
I think his interview has cleared the air regarding these 2 Bakinson is more controlled than HNM who is overly energetic .. [ possibly to point of unsettling the rhythm ] ..

NP stated we are very fit just need to find the "finesse/ stick to gameplan/ concentrate...!"

To me it seems to press hard in the first half, get a goal, then sit back and try to defend it.
I’ve said earlier in another post, maybe that’s because we aren’t fit enough to chase the second goal.
I'm sure I've read or heard that, it's what we have upped since he's been here....we are supposed to be so much fitter.....According to RG interview, our style, should be high press with intensity......which is why I'm confused with the tactics implemented!

Even I am bamboozled by the first half/second half difference-we were very good Saturday first half-second half took the foot of the pedal-but looked much stronger at the end.

I've been asking my family for a USA Custom Fender Telecaster for Christmas since 2015.
I'm still waiting - I wonder which will come first? Premiership football at Ashton gate or my Fender Tele?
