I did say sneak into, not just walk into. The Channel is water, not a sodding great brick wall. Just ask the Vikings and Normans.

Take the good old US of A for instance. The Mexicans are allowed in through border crossings if they are legit but to get into the States illegally they need to dig under or climb over the fence and there are helicopters and border cops galore trying to stop them, hundreds die in these attempts every year. Hop on a boat and sail north for a few hours and you can rock up at San Diego and get in no problem. By water is easier and unless you have the coastguard on constant patrol as between Florida and Cuba it's a doddle compared to digging tunnels and dodging bullets.

Farage and his ilk banging on about protecting our borders is a pile of horsesh*t. A few hours by boat from the Hook of Holland, Boulogne etc and you can touch down on Blighty. If you don't want to run the risk of being caught getting off the boat just hop into a dingy and paddle up to the nearest beach under cover of darkness. It worked well for the Mick bringing guns into Ireland. How else do you think they got there? UPS? Amazon?

Does Farage think immigrants are just going to stop trying to get here? He thinks that preventing immigrants signing on or getting NHS treatment will somehow put them off.

Its still a very specious statement. You're one of the easiest european countries to sneak into by virtue of being one of the only countries that you are required to sneak into?

I don't really understand the point you are trying to make? What would you suggest is done, and how will brexit help?

Here goes nothing....George Osborne is an economics genius, up there with Adam Smith.

He announced this morning he ain't quitting like wot he promised on brexit. There will be no emergency budget like wot he said there would be on brexit.

That says to me he's no worried about anything and we should all just calm down and bask in his reflected confidence in the future.
