He is very busy devising his new 5 year plan and putting in place everything we need for a highly successful first season back in the top flight.

He is the right sort of CEO or do you miss Rupert Lowe always in the limelight?
 
He speaks when it is necessary to speak.

It took a while for us Saints fans to adjust to a man who acts like a chairman as opposed to Lowe who appeared on the team photo, had a column in the matchday programme and did radio phone ins.

I'm confident we will hear from him in the summer and he'll give an indepth interview and give the club a new vision for us all to get jolly excited about.

At the moment like any decent chairman he is allowing the manager and players to get the pats on the back and enjoy the limelight.
 
I think our Mr Cortese only speaks when he wants to, when he gives in-depth interviews to selected members of the press. He then leaves Nigel to act as the mouth piece of Saints within the parameters he has set.
I would love to be a fly on the wall when NC reviews NA's achievements over a given period against the targets set!!
 
Cortese was unheard of last year until the ML Trophy, when he did a video discussing the past and furute for SaintsPlayer and the big screens, and he made some notes in the first programme of the season.

That's enough for me, as I expect he will probably do the same again! :emoticon-0142-happy
 
I like the silence. Seems like there are too many talking heads around. When he speaks you know there is substance and it is important that everyone knows the information. No reason to hear chatter that adds no value. I'm sure we will hear something from him but likely not until around the time the guys report back.
 
actions def speak louder than words, much prefer Cortese approach to that of David Gold for example, I follow him on twitter purely for the unreal tweets he sends on a daily basis about team selection etc.. you would think he is the team manager! One example, yesterday a hammers fan asked if cole was fit for mondays game, gold replied "yes cole is in the squad for monday"!! Talk about giving the opposition a heads up! Cortese would never do that and Adkins would not be impressed either!

Cortese acts in a professional manner at all times, yes he has made mistake but he learns from them quickly. The don has gone a long way in restoring our once battered pride and its his measured approach which is the reason why!

We will hear from him at some point over the summer, that much I am certain,

Up the Saints.
 
I for one am grateful for his silence even if at times it leaves us all wondering. Do you remember that clown Lampitt up the road, he's still out there acting like he's the main man.
 
I've been hugely impressed by Cortese, during his time at Saints. To me, Nicola deserves every bit as much recognition as Markus Liebherr because they came as a team. One provided the money, the other provided the know-how. Sadly, Markus is not around to enjoy the rewards of success, but Nicola is driving it all on. And really, it has been Cortese's dream all along. He may have convinced Markus that Saints were an ideal and rewarding business to invest in, but as he has said in the past, it was never a financial decision. It was always done for fun. After initial little issues with the media, and sadly, with a minority of fans in his dealings with Pardew, and the changes he made to the setup at Saints, he has learned where to position himself and it has all been good news since then. He has got Saints positioned and pointing in the best condition and direction this particular fan has even known.

Being a Saints fan, there is always a small part of me which wonders how long it can all last. But Cortese is a young man, and he reckons he's going to be around for bloody years, and I say amen to that. On to a successful future.
 
Cortese had a background in sports finance and obviously thinks he knows how to run a successful football club and, more importantly, how not to run one. We came on the market with the right credentials for 'The Plan' and the rest is history. I think he is relishing the chance to be at the top table next season, but none of us know the future. He is young but whether that means he will be here a long time or is more likely to get a better offer...who knows? Whatever happens, we're better off than before he came, that's for certain.

Oh Fran, don't you remember..? Just 18 months ago, it was rumoured he was offered a position at one of the Milan clubs, because of his close personal friendships with Italian owners [and for me, slightly worryingly, former Italian PM, Berlusconi] and financiers. His reaction was to play down the suggestion, but he went on to say that he couldn't possibly be offered a better position than the one he has now. Barring accidents and one's own Saints fan anxieties, I think he'll be at the club for the longest haul. I hope that, 1] he's at Saints for as long as I'm around [he's younger than me], and that 2] the ones who can look back on his era will be able to say that Saints became one of the biggest and most successful clubs, because of his leadership.
