Leeds & Watford - both clubs that have had their financial struggles but in general we never lose sight of the fact that if it wasn't for our current owners, we may not even exist now. At the start of the season, I was hopeful that we would do well which means being at least in the play-offs at the end of match 46, not match 16. I remember only too well that we came from nowhere in the last 2 months of 98/99 to get promotion in the play-offs and how we threw away a 9 point lead at this time in 07/08 to only just scrape 6th place and lose in the play-offs to Hull so I never take anything for granted.

As has been mentioned elsewhere on these boards within the last few days, the aim of the owners was to achieve promotion to the Prem in 3 years. Maybe the best finish for us last season to manage expectations some people may have for this season would've been between 8th and 12th.

Regarding Sam Byram, I've never seen him so I can't comment either way but the big question is how badly would he be missed if he was out for a few games?

Well, I thought very badly missed but Brian McDermott seems to be a miracle worker. Won 4-2 at Charlton without Sam Byram. Somehow managed to do alright with Lee "The opposition half is lava" Peltier playing wing back. Managed to beat Yeovil as well, although that's expected since they are the Championship whipping boys. Beat boro without him too.

Still, he kept Gareth Bale, Wilfried Zaha, and any number of other promising young wingers quiet, and anybody who can do that at 18 has to be something special.
