Sunderland are considering their options with Didier Ndong and Papy Djilobodji set to miss out on deadline day moves. The Black Cats had been keen to move the pair on before the window shuts but talks over an exit have broken down.
Ndong in particular has been close to an exit on a number of occasions this summer, but failed to agree terms with his suitors.
With the deadline shutting for incoming deals at 5pm, it does make it highly unlikely that Jack Ross will be able to make any further additions to his squad.
It is understood that Ndong and Djilobodji's representatives have floated the idea of the pair returning to the club, something that would pose a difficult dilemma for the club.
They have not reported for pre-season training after their respective loan moves last season, with the Black Cats withholding their wages in the interim period.
Sunderland will consider their options with the issue set to rumble on in the coming days and weeks.
The Portugese transfer window remains open until September 21, with Benfica having showing an interest in Ndong earlier in the window.
I like the returning to the club notion, as in they want paying the same way Rodwell did for doing **** all.
What a pair of ****s. I'm sincerely hoping there's some way that we can a) not have them around b) not pay their wages/pay up their salary. If the Rodwell debacle taught us anything though we'll have to pay them off if we want rid.
We didn't pay. We cancelled Rodwell contract by mutual agreement.
But we'd forfeit any transfer fees if we did that with these 2. Which is why I said we need to sue them for losses inflicted by their behaviour
NDongs loan move to Watford has massively back fired on us.
He could/should have stayed with us and contributed in what was a very poor midfield. He hasnt kicked a ball competitively in nearly a year now. At least he'd have been given the chance to put himself in the shop window staying with us, he has become a forgotten man now.
We would also have benefited as a team with him in the squad because our central midfield options were dross last year.

Waste of space he is, Moyes or whoever has a lot to answer for..
There's so many overrated players at the moment that get that flavour of the Month ****e after half a dozen good games, the whole football world is crazy..
Are you sure about that? I hope it is true but I thought we had to pay up his contract, which would be consistent with the rest of his behaviour.
I'm sure. Last year of his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
That's why Ross and Donald praised his (and his agents) behaviour as being understanding and professional

That link you put up says we reached an agreement. If it wasn't a financial agreement then what the hell was it? A good reference lolWe didn't pay. We cancelled Rodwell contract by mutual agreement.

"Rodwell asked to leave Sunderland in January and the club offered to rip up his contract, but Rodwell was reluctant to walk away from such a lucrative deal with no pay-off."
That doesn't sound like someone who would just walk away, yes it was cancelled by mutual consent but what was his motivation to do so if not money, it doesn't specify anywhere that he wasn't paid off.

Don't be like that, Daniel. Being abusive and angry isn't good for the soul.Agreement to end it by mutual consent

It doesn't say that he didn't get a pay out? I'll start preparing my arse for Fenwicks window if he's left without his palms being crossed with silver.
