Just seen this online. Anyone believe it? http://www.liveforfootballshirts.co... Shirts - For Fans of Footy Shirts New & Old)
I remember reading that on here as well. It's what made me think there could be some truth behind it.
The history of Addidas made leaked kit images is reasonably reliable. It appears they leaked the kit with the gold aap on the chest correctly, as it turned out to be exact. There have also been whispers that next season's away kit will be green, so that maybe correct as well. Personally, I don't like green kits. It's like seeing a field of goalkeepers. The red/white stripe one looks OK. Bit of a Bilbao retread [which is understandably easily done as we're so similar].
Home kit is fine, usual unimaginative Addidas design but wtf is that away kit? Green? Where the hell has that come from? Green? NOOOOO!
Well this season it has been blue and yellow, and the special [Newcastle] third kit was yellow and blue, so I think they do know. Personally I think this season's away kit has looked superb. Especially as it has coincided with some of our best football. Despatching Arsenal in the League Cup, wearing the away kit was sheer class. Pelle scoring with that superb strike against Stoke in the away kit, was also excellent. A good looking kit makes a great piece of football look even better. A bad looking kit makes a team look like something out of a pub league [with all due respect to pub-leaguers] even if they are playing well. I don't have high expectations that the green kit is going to make us look any more than pub league.
I'm okay with the home kit. At least it has stripes and looks like Saints and not some template. I mean it will probably end up being a template due to the preponderance of striped and even red/white striped teams. But it doesn't LOOK like a template. It doesn't feel like we were forced into some non-fitting design like the water wing design from last year. The green away is rather ugly, but apparently that was our own bad idea so can't blame that on Adidas.
OK, I'm going to pop a thought that has just occurred to me out there... The alternative German kit is or has been green in the past. Is that thought stretched too far..? I'm just trying to find a reason for green because, as far as I know, we have zero history of green in the kit. Another thought. It's not the leaves off that bloody tree on the club badge is it..?
Yellow is our traditional away kit so simply remove the vial green and replace with yellow. Then replace to shorts with blue. Ta dah.....a Saints away kit Guilty pleasure was the black away kit which was very smart
