I do really like Hobbs but feel Ayala would be best watching him at the beginning of this season he looked a class apart
Yeah, I agree. My point was that i'd feel more than satisfied with hobbs and chester if we weren't to get ayala. A lot of people on here seem almost convinced we'll get ayala, i'm not so sure. (Edit: Maybe not 'a lot' of people, but certainly a few seem to think its only a matter of time)

The other bench option i would love to see is Garcia? I don't what state he is in and just how likely it is but i think he would add some depth into the squad.
Does anybody have any idea on the chances of this?

Garcia won't play this year and I doubt he'll ever play for us again, I expect him to be released at the end of June.

As for Hobbs in midfield, he's nowhere near good enough on the ball, he's a strong centre half and can do a job, but I definitely wouldn't want to see him in any other position. Chester/Ayala would be my first choice pairing, followed by Chester/Hobbs or Ayala/Hobbs.

I just assumed Gerrard was a no-go. With Cardiff staying down they might see how well he did last year and give him a go pre-season.
He was great when he was here, but i can't see us forking out millions on him with cheaper options around.

Birmingham released Phillips and Bowyer today. Yes or No?

Yeah completely agree with you there

Bowyer at City? ****.. I mean he's not **** but something's not right about that idea & I don't think NP would bring in an unruly type like him..

Bowyer wouldn't be a first choice by a mile but he has proven he can play at the top? We might benefit from having someone abit rough in the centre to win the ball back, think of him as a more talented but ex-scum Ashbee maybe? Just a suggestion anyway!

Manonne
Rosenior Ayala Hobbs Dudgeon
*New RW* Evans *New DM* Stewart
Fryatt Simpson

Eihoff, Chester, Dawson, Koren, McLean, Barmby

Personally I see Evans as a box-to-box player, he needs to be playing along side a defensive midfielder.

I think the likes of Cooper, Cullen, Cairney and Devitt desperately need decent loan spells in League 1\Championship or I fear they will just rot away in the reserves.

Next season I can only realistically see something like this:

------------Eilhoff/New Keeper------------
Rosenior-----Chester-----Hobbs-----Dudgeon
--------------Evans----Danns--------------
-------------------Koren--------------------
---Simpson------Fryatt--------Stewart---
