I am laughing at Swindon and Charlton right now. Swindon are now without a manager again and last seasons play off finish looks a pipe dream for this coming season after players and now manager Garner have jumped ship. Which leads me to why I am laughing at Charlton. They are the lucky ones to have Garner as their manager <laugh>

Usually we end up starting away from home on the first game of the season because the Balloon Fiesta always gets organised to start the following weekend of when the season starts - meaning City play home first because they can't play at home the same weekend as the Balloon Fiesta. The new season starts on 30th July but this time the Balloon Fiesta is 2 weeks later - meaning there is a great chance we will play at home for the first game of the season.

Game 1: 30th July - Rovers home and City away
Game 2: 6th Aug - City home and Rovers away
Game 3: 13th Aug - Rovers home and City away (Balloon Fiesta)

15 days to wait until we get the fixtures released!

Really CJS
Yeah its been ages since we last played them. They've been in the championship while we were back in L2 so its been a while. When I think of Wycombe now, I think of them as a tough L1 fixture as I think they will be a strong top 8 team for sure. I no longer see them as an easy 6 points and the jokes about the lightning and health and safety officer. But I am glad I have been reminded though because that will make the match day threads interesting and spicy <laugh>

The request was to be played behind “closed doors” however there were fans in attendance. The open training session was meant to include a thank-you hospitality which didn’t go, apparently, to plan.

it would seem there is also some ahem animosity between JB and the posts rover’s correspondent over something said to another club regarding a player of interest. If true, and I have no reason to doubt, could be a choppy season for local press….some might even say Frosty!

Without singling anyone out individually, I think the media in general in this country, TV, newspapers, the whole lot of them, are the most dispicable, untrustworthy, treacherous bunch of individuals imaginable, and to find anyone with morals and scruples within that industry, is an extremely rare occurrence.

Data analysts FiveThirtyEight have predicted Rovers will finish in 20thpostion with 51 points, 1 point ahead of Cambridge, Accrington Stanley and Exeter on 50 points and Morecombe on 46 points.

If their predictions are correct it's going to be a long season

Whilst I don't deny it's going to be tricky for us at times this season, I would be surprised if we don't finish higher than 20th to be honest. 51 points is relegation territory give or take the odd point, and if their predictions come true, then yes, it will be a long season!

Ouch. Looking at our league, it is to me one of the toughest I've seen at this level. Anyone can pretty much beat anyone. I would feel so much better though if we had Taylor and Anderson back.
