I wouldn't have a problem with Howe. He tries to play attacking football. I think I would be less frustrated on a Saturday night if we at least tried to retain possession, then maybe had a few shots on goal, than I am at the moment.
He is probably a bit more of risk in terms of keeping us up this year, but if we can get the right players in, I think they would enjoy playing for him. He would be just the starting point in the path to global domination. Think there are more advantages to getting someone in now, letting them figure out where we need to strengthen (shouldn't actually take that long), decide who they want, and then get the rest of them playing in a way that will gel with the incoming players.

You are probably right. Man City had to start with a less than optimal manager (Mark Hughes) but used the opportunity to look around for a longer term replacement and they were mid-tableish when the buy-out occurred.
If him and his coaches can install a modern passing game that's a big step fwd. I wouldn't give him total control on transfers though. I would hope they get in a good DOF and top scouts to assist with that.
I personally would rather someone else, but at the end of the day you've only got to look at the clubs actual position and the everyday working environment at present to see why it's a hard sell to the top top managers.
It's ok telling them what they'll have in 2 or 3 years, but they'll be thinking then call me then.

No they dont, there are a lot of challenges outside of the manager of getting Bournemouth to 'the next level'
You do realise that everything Rafman says is fastidiously researched, perfectly true and beyond contradiction.
Two errors. Fcked up the whole recruitment process is the first, then actually hiring Eddie Howe is the second. At least they're apologising in advance this time, so that's progress.
If it is Howe we end up with, surely we won't know they've f@cked up until the bloke's been given the chance to prove himself.

I don't think Howe's a bad appointment.. Bournemouth played very good football and punched well above their weight for a good 4 seasons.
He's demonstrated he can coach in a modern style of play.
There's chancers that just got the right job and rode a wave from big club to big club.
Let's get behind him and give him some better players.
If nowt else it will get him out of the way once and for all. If it works out great he'll stay....if not he'll get the bullet soon enough and never again will his name enter the frame for the managerial vacancy at SJP.
Way way down on my list of choices but he'll get my backing 100%. A step up from Bruce but not (in my eyes) the right appointment for the project at hand. Lets face it, the football cannot get any worse than what we've seen under Bruce/Jones. My biggest concern is the level of player Eddie Howe will be able to attract to the club, but maybe that says more about how we are looking at approaching this project, so rather than marquee manager followed by marquee signing after signing we bring someone in who can stabilise things, bring in a good players (better than some of the ****e we have) and build the squad to be regularly top 10 for the next 2-3 seasons and we kick on from there.
