Rumours seem to be that Rafa wouldn't take much convincing to join us as a club, the issue seems to be that he doesn't want to uproot his life on the Wirral again.

Rumours. The oh so reliable rumours. Where are these rumours from and what are they exactly?

Uprooting his life in the Wirral? He was absolutely fine being there when he was with us. Rafa would bring the defensive resilience we need, and would be a safe pair of hands, but I would prefer a more flash manager.

I think the concern would be more to do with the fallout if he left Everton this early.

I won't complain with any on the list.. I bet some do but really its just the 1st stage we're entering into..

Just going to enjoy it

Just indulging the Rafa horseshit for just one second, much as people say he was overrated and the football was ****, we've never had a manager who made us as defensively good as he did - Clark, Laecelles, Schar, Feders and Lejeurne, the complete opposite to who we normally are. Kinda what we need to get out the ****.

But still, hardly a dazzling move.

That would be the best part imo.. Everton fans will be pleased, but it'll make their club look crap.

They haven't been as hostile to him as Chelsea were, but they're haven't bought in yet.

Would be a bit of a ****ter to have Ancelotti **** on them and then Rafa do the same straight afterwards, but the fact is Everton is hardly a glamour job.

Really? Thought he did very well at Napoli

The Chelsea boo boys didn't leave death threat banners near his home though did they.

Rafa's days of winning the Champions League and narrowly missing out on the Prem seem like a distance memmory now, he's still very good, but not really the force he once was.

He didn't have the funding here, then he went to a newly promoted side in China during a pandemic. So for nearly 5 years, he hasn't had the opportunity to compete at the top.

He'd done a good job with us and wouldn't have been short of offers, the fact he went for a cushy job in China with a huge pay packet shows a lack of ambition.

If he came back here he'd have the opportunity to build a team and potentially challenge, and have more funding at his disposal than Everton, but he would have to absolutely **** on them to make the move.

A distant memory thanks to our club.
As a manager he's at the top.
Difference being most people don't like his style of play

People don't like his style of play, but it's also dependent on the squad you have. At Napoli they said he was too attacking. At Real Madrid he was criticised by the local media for being too attacking against smaller clubs. At Chelsea he played attacking. With us, once we had Perez, Almiron and Rondon, our style changed. At Everton they're saying that Rafa is playing more attacking compared with Ancelotti and the team is showing more intensity and fight.

As he said there were no top jobs available. What was there? Maybe Celtic. I think he was so fed up, he thought f it, I'm taking the money option.

Yeah that's the issue, he probably wants to be with us, but it will come at a cost of ****ting in his door step, where his family live.

What we thinking, that Ten Hag is top choice, Benitez is still being talked to and Fonseca has accepted the job with Martinez/Favre also interested?

So down to five. Time for a poll, I reckon.
