Martinez has been sneaking back into the betting. 7/2 with some outlets. Fonseca is drifting a bit.

Well maybe the fact that Shearer told a load of close acquaintances the night before Bruce was being sacked and Fonseca being appointed, was the big reason for the odds tumble. Perhaps Fonseca isn't really happening

I've seen the whatsapp group messages. Someone left the contact details on and its all kicked off because someone has posted Pete Graves telephone number about and he's been taking calls <laugh> Some daft twonk left the contact details on the screenshot, rookie mistake.

Here's the thing. If we remove Twitter from the equation, what harsh treatment did he get? According to Bruce, he got letters and wherever he went were well-wishers. So remove Twitter - which is cancer - from the mix and what is there?

He eventually got chanted against in the stadium but by the time people were allowed in, we were ****ing abysmal. He lashed out when people asked "why are you going on holiday when everything is utter crap?" or when anyone said "where's the tactics/identity?". All this crap about he was never given a chance - every manager has a chance to change things around. Nobody at West Ham wanted Moyes back, he's done a good job and turned it around. Nobody at Everton wanted Rafa, he's gradually winning them over. Everybody was treating Ole "harshly" last night by half time, in the end he turned it around. All of these people have the ability to focus on their job, ignore social media and work hard to get results.

Steve Bruce instead chose to be lazy. He chose Cheshire over Newcastle. He chose to play bad tactics and players out of position, he chose to give them constant time off, he chose not to create a style or an identity. He chose to be himself and stay stuck in the 90's. None of this is on the fans. If he came in with new ideas, fitness regimes, humility and awareness then the fans would have come around. That he feels he can just be a lazy fecker, picking up £50k a week, with no ideas and everyone will laud him because he was born in ****ing North Shields then he's a bigger idiot than I thought he was.

I don't know like most forums like this one contain fairly abusive remarks about him <laugh> Its pretty much assured this is repeated all over. Sorry but there is no excuse for some of the fans behaviour. Mind I don't buy the Bruce pity party either, its not nice but he's a big boy and its only words. He knew what he was getting into and has been in the game long enough to know, bad results mean stick and some of that will be abusive. Football is an emotional thing. Emotion leads to people saying things they probably don't need to but because they are angry, they just can't help it.

He failed at his job, got sacked and we move on. He should too and stop trying to get sympathy.

His odds are getting shorter

They went out because sky reported they were talking to other candidates I assume, but they're getting shorter

Of course, they wouldn't sell out OT in the Champ! But we wouldn't sell out SJP either.

I bet we would and have done without Ashley. I'm not talking just about PIF being here,

I can't remember any of our fans twatting a cabbage of his heed here. We called him inept - he was, we called him clueless - he was - we called him useless - he was - we called him a fat mackem bastard - he is - we called him an Ashley apologist - he was - we called him out his depth - he was. All these idiots condemning our behaviour would freak out if he was appointed their manager.

We sang a few chants of "We want Brucey out" - Big deal. We pay our money and are entitled to our views.

If it wasn't for COVID he would have been gone 12 months earlier. In fact I'll go as far to say if it wasn't for COVID - we would have been relegated.

There was videos of people chasing bruce around telling him to **** off you fat cabbage.

They were peppering his sons account with vile comments

There's been some disgusting stuff going on including wishing he got covid 19 and died.

We have to accept this

Where do you think I was getting my intel from?

The direct inappropriate abuse should not be condemned. I accept that.

But mate that really is a small minority who would stoop that low.

This is how I see it. If I was in a room with him and he asked me my feelings I would say how I felt. That I didn’t like him and the way he went about his ways and that I don’t like his management style.

He can't exactly single people out... He's told the truth.

He's a poor manager the fans were awful to and didn't like him sticking up for himself.

I'd just say well done for the 1st two seasons.

Let's just lock the Bruce thread and consign it to history.
Agree, and stop talking about him on this thread as this one is for our shiney new manager…whoever he (or she for all you members of the snowflake lgbtqwerty+ brigade on here) is!

howay fonseca man, sort your **** out! Get him up here and someone get him down to toon takeaway…if that doesn’t seal the deal nowt will!

Interesting to see that they want to interview others too.

Mate I can only assume you're new here <laugh> Cabbage heed, fat useless ****, honestly you name it, someone on here has called him it in the last 18 months. Memes etc the whole shabang. No point anyone hiding from it. I think I've probably called him a fat useless **** to be honest when I've been in a fettle after a defeat. Some people have rarely called him by his name. We can't rewrite history, what's been done has been done. The fans continuing on with that after he has been sacked is bewildering. Just let it go man, he's gone.

I agree about all these getting on their high horse mind, there are accounts on instagram condemning Newcastle fans. The very same accounts posted mocking memes of him this season. Scholesy says "I don't normally agree with managers failing and getting pay outs but because of the abuse he's had he deserves it" **** off man you've just tried to find a way to justify you're old mucker getting a pay out.

We do pay our money and our entitled to our views. I'd venture that abusing folk is not something we are entitled to though. At least not to the level he has suffered. He's not the first, Pardew took terrible abuse off the fans because he wouldn't be like Rafa or KK and stand up to Ashley. Despite doing so achieving **** all.

They seem to be acting with respect for the other candidates.

I'd imagine there's a few asked for the job

Shearer seemed absolutely certain that it was happening. And he knew Bruce was being sacked the night before. Fonseca was 7/1 when he told people, he was evens by the morning.

Unless Shearer is working for the bookies like <laugh>
