I'm not interested in any of that ****.. Did he demonstrate he could coach in a modern style of play? Yes He'll do.. I admit it'll be slight disappointing but reality bites
I listed on this thread about 8 managers who are better, way better, all of whom would be willing and able. I'd rather they went for Scott Parker. We're now meandering blindly into a winnable game (I know they're way better than we are, but all games against the other 14 have to be seen as "winnable") with the useless fecker Jones in charge ready to go 7 at the back. Defeat and bottom spot beckons, at least 7 points from safety. Whether I'm being impatient, or unfair, it's inarguable that the new owners have made an utter pigs ear of this situation.
It's emery that we should be after. **** gave his word then ****ed us over I hope he ends up at Sunderland in a few years
Parker failed at Fulham to keep them up even once mate I'd rather Howe all day long I accept he's going to be a big come down from emery, but let's not forget who he's replacing. It's step 1.. City had Hughes for a while. Let's just focus on the light at the end of the tunnel and get marching.
Why is everyone getting so wound up about one Spanish Journalist and his view? Chill your beans and see how it plays out.
This... the last thing UE would do is pick up the phone to a journalist to leak the info so soon after it happened. IN UE's own words.... he hasn't rejected any offer.
If he's changed his mind it's not our owners fault. It means he's a **** I just want to make that clear
Exactly. Can you imagine.. Villarreal just beat Young Boys.. 11pm.. **** let’s make sure we ring Ballague to inform him or he won’t sleep tonight, I pinky promised him I’d call straight after the match before discussing it with anyone else. Only Emery knows himself so until I see (which very could possibly happen don’t get me wrong) him specifically saying he doesn’t want the job I’ll be patient.
Modern style of play? Didn't he mainly play 442 with the aim of crossing the ball to a big man. His style of play was often described as chaotic. Fullbacks overstretching and played in the opposition half, leaving the central defenders exposed. Wingers playing high up the pitch. Central midfielders being deployed as defensive midfielders, playing short passing. Which meant huge gaps all over the pitch. His aim was essentially get the ball on the wing and pass the ball in to the box.
I hate to say it, but I agree. Basically, anybody that picked up coaching badges via the English FA tend to be ****ing awful. When people talk about the problem with foreign managers, they seem unwilling to point the finger at our own useless football association. Ole, Southgate, Bruce, Howe, Lampard, all the same. All struggle with tactical game management, none of them have any idea how to plan or oversee a project, they don't instil a DNA into a football team. If I was interviewing, that'd be question one - do they have an FA coaching badge? They do? Well, that's a no then. The worst thing about someone like Howe, is that's EXACTLY the kind of Ashley-esque appointment the media wants us to have. Him, plus an inevitable relegation, and they'll be dancing ****ing jigs and holding anti-Saudi parties, burning guy's on bonfires dressed in Toon tops and tea towels.
Hughes was already at City when the takeover went through. He was sacked a year later. We're also talking over a decade ago. Back then there was literally 3 rich clubs. Now the league is full of billionaire owners.
