He failed at Monaco

Brendan failed at Reading ...

“Reading have parted company with their manager Brendan Rodgers by mutual consent. The Royals have had a difficult season and sit in 21st place having won only one of their 11 home league games.

A statement from Reading said: "Following a meeting this afternoon, the chairman, the board of Reading Football Club and Brendan Rodgers have agreed by mutual consent that Brendan Rodgers will leave his position as first-team manager with immediate effect. Reading Football Club will make no further comment at this stage."

He lasted only from June to December

You never know <cheers>

I just wonder whether he would have the experience to deal with all the constraints that would be put on him. On a plus he played under a manager in Wenger who wasn't afraid to bring in and use the young players. interesting option, would satisfy those wanting a name, but would it be a name only.

Agreed - but I suspect that

a) he’d only come with certain ‘guarantees’ &
b) he would be able to borrow young talent from Arsenal as Lampard did from Chelsea (for Derby) last season.

But I am sure our fantastic board would promise him everything and actually deliver nothing in terms of guarantees. but, the Arsenal link could work well.

Having failed miserably at Monaco, he’d have (contractual) assurances in writing and if the Board went back on its word ....
