If it were a choice of trundling along with MP2 for a couple of weeks or Hughes now, I think we would all choose Hughes. Don’t think of it as tuchel or Hughes think of it as MP2 or Hughes.
We were going down with Pellegrino. No doubt about that. Hughes will be more of a force in the dressing room.
I don't know why anyone is surprised that Hughes would take a temporary job...he's unemployed (though no doubt minted) and has been offered a short-term job (allegedly) that will keep his hand in. No one outside the club will blame him if we go down, but he will receive plaudits if he saves us. There may be an option to stay if we aren't relegated, but he hasn't agreed to stay with a team that he may not fancy or may be in the Championship.
