Can't see Clement taking a chance on us as number 2 so no.
But it still comes down to who can bring in the best players as that's mainly what will give us a fighting chance of staying up .
Be better to have more than 1 dragon backing us though :emoticon-0105-wink:

Paul Clement seems like a Brendan Rodgers MkII - no playing career to speak of, good coaching credentials at the highest level, no top-level managerial experience.

He would probably get the players back onside with his coaching techniques, but Curtis is saying Swansea must have someone in with Premier League experience (as a manager?) which he doesn't have...what to do?

I'd take Clement in a heartbeat. Shouldn't have got the push at Derby by all accounts, has some great experience behind the scenes at VERY big clubs and is ready to step up. A perfect fit.

Let's go get him.

It's looking like the board have learnt nothing. Gambling again on a manager with no PL experience. Neither Rowett or Clement have had any success at being a number 1 at a club.
Both have failed to gain promotion in the Championship. Rowett got Birmingham to 10th twice ffs how does that equate to being good enough to save us from relegation. OK so Clement got Derby to 5th,great, but then went on a run of 7 games without a win prior to being sacked.
I just don't get what the board are thinking!!
For once stop taking ****ing risks.
We seemed to have built a reputation on being successful with young inexperienced managers. But the reality is, since BR left we have had 2 managers that have managed 1 good full season then faded away and been sacked. Followed by 2 managers that have been crap. It's about time HJ stopped believing in his own press and realised he has just been lucky, well half the time anyway. I can get the same odds on a roulette table betting on red.
Sorry for ranting and repeating myself but I am just so frustrated with the way the board seem to think they can keep pulling rabbits out of hats.

Looks like its Clement vs Rowett. But as aswan said, Curtis is after experience so who knows.

Thing is, if either Rowett or Clement got the job who would or could they bring with them to sharpen up a desperate attack and shore up the worst premier league defence since Derby County?

Arry name is still being touted around and he says he 'could' bring Terry and Lampard. Thing is, especially in sport, the older you get the more it hurts so I just can't see JT or Lampard putting 100% into the Swans. They've both had their day, built their legacies and both have earned their £m's so why would they want to come here?

Caulker too has been mooted with Arrys name but personally I think he's well over rated. I'd prefer to have Bartley back as I think he is better than Caulker whose reputation, it seems, is in his name and not his actions.

I don't think we approached Cookie or Giggs about the job. Both would have a substantial price tag on them and, as we all know, we are allergic to price tags so probably avoided them like the plague.

So its Rowett vs Clement with Arry as an outsider and I haven't a clue who'd be the best to get us out of the **** we're wallowing in.

Having slept on it...

Clement would be appealing as a Summer appointment where he would have time to build& mould a team/squad.

Given the situation that we find ourselves in - a desperate battle against relegation - then we need a short-term firefighter. Someone like Harry or Pardew.

Appointing Coement or Rowett suggests we are planning for the longer term - a longer term that includes Championship soccer next season......
