My concern over Hasselbaink is he stepped in and took over a winning team, much easier than a rebuild...

My greatest fear at the moment is Sherwood getting the job. I'd be embarrassed to have a manager who's basically a five year old living in a grown man's body. I wouldn't be able to take seeing him celebrate goals as if he's scored them and then give post match interviews talking about how either we lost because of conspiracy against him or won because he's such a great manager. What a tosspot.

I see Malky Mackay is about 20-1. With his well known views on people who look different to him he seems an ideal fit with our multi cultural set up. Which in itself is hardly a glowing advertisement for diversity.

Not sure about Laudrup when you actually look at his record, but if you and the Dane rate him I will suspend doubts......How do you know Zola is Tone's favourite? With the exceptions of Pearson, Warnock, Sherwood and Holloway (and of course Mackay) I would give the benefit of the doubt to any of the others.

I have this feeling that because they announced it so soon that they already have their man.
Surely our board are not that stupid in 'jumping the gun' <yikes>
I reckon it will be Warnock until the end of the season or someone not mentioned on the list :emoticon-0127-lipss

I read something once quoting TF as to how much he admired Zola, and throughout Redknapp's reign he was favourite to be our next manager. I'm not really sure about Laudrup either, but I reckon he would get us playing some attractive football. Not sure what kind of stuff Hibs have been playing under Stubbs, but he's got results there and I imagine he would get our defence sorted. Based on value-for-money, I'll go for Stubbs.

You may be 100% 'Ellers' with some thought going to .................. Shaun Derry taking over after a period of time.
We need to consider that the only manager we will take on MUST abide by our DoF.
That rules out a number of high flyer candidates, considering TF and the board don't want to spend any more cash than they have to.
If the manager fails, the DoF simply terminates the contract and we as a club, move on to the next. The overall system stays intact, a la, Southampton style.

The longer this goes, the more I see it happening.
I'd rather have Warnock learning Derry than Dim Sim Tim.

Ok, here is a theroy .................. David Moyes is supposedly under the pump having won just 11 0f his 38 games in charge .............. so, before anyone calls me dullusional, down right mad & stupid, consider this.

Depending on how both Moyes and his good lady feel, they just might be very keen to land back on English soil.
Based on that, for whatever you may think, yes we are a basket case BUT, we are also still a attractive prospect.
We still have the Mitals to back the club, any manager coming our way know they will have some funds to play with, depending on results.
Moyes can land back here under the guise of the Championship, build a squad and push for the PL in time to come.
It beats landing back in a frying pan over the stove ( if he were to go straight back to the PL ).
    Anyway, just a thought.

I think you're spot on. Gary Rowett would be ideal, I just don't think we would be able to get him from Birmingham at this moment unfortunately. But he fits the bill, maybe the most promising up and coming manager in the country, fantastic appointment by Birmingham, credit to them.

Personally I have a good feeling about Paul Lambert. I know those feelings won't get much support on here but his Norwich side was one of the best and most difficult sides we have come up against in the Championship. What impresses me about him is his knowledge of several playing systems, and getting them to work. He also built a strong TEAM at Norwich and at Villa in fact, picking up some good youngsters in the process.

Another option plucked out of the far left, not seen him mentioned is Gus Poyet. Yes he shat on the floor of the Palace dressing room, is a bit of a nutter and has scum connections. But he started what we now see at Brighton and made them a very accomplished side. Has since failed at Sunderland, but who hasn't? He have always come across very smart and knowledgable, and know how to play football AND win.
