What is your prefered successor to Ramsey? Probable or "dream" manager, doesn't matter, let us know who YOU would like to take our club forward. Please discuss. I know I will get shot down for this but I want Ian Holloway as our next manager. He know and love the club, and he will entertain us both on and off the pitch. He also have some promotions on his CV now, think he would be great for us again. Think we will find it difficult to "poach" a good manager from a settled job. Most likely it will be an unemployed one. With the timing of the sacking I fear the club are looking to bring in Sherwood. Whoever it is though, I will be 100% behind the new man.
I'd go for Gary Rowett. He ditched Burton and moved to a struggling Birmingham side on course for relegation and is now in the play offs but he's ambitious and knows the potential with a squad as good as ours. Also as Birmingham are broke he won't be on much so won't cost much Because we're only 30% of the way through the season there's plenty for him to get stuck into and added bonus is if he doesn't get us up this year his track record proves he could make us promotion contenders even if we lose Austin, Fer, Sandro etc Please not Sherwood whatever we do But we'd also be used step down for Pearson. That hasn't worked out well when recruiting players maki making a step down
Decent shout for Holloway - an existing love of the club is our best sales pitch. Aside from that, anyone who would want to join us is either bonkers or not good enough.
Robinson of MKD has impressed me, should be cheap and possibly available...worried it will be Tim nice but Dim. Hate the guy but Pearson is looking for a job....
Paulo Di Canio for me. I heard a great interview with him on TalkSport over the summer. The fellow has some excellent balanced ideas on football, lifestyle, diet, etc. A strict disciplinarian too. Just what's needed.
If we're going for ex-managers how about Venables? The cupboard is bare, only other rejects. No-one doing well at another club would be barmy enough to come...
Does Tony go down the tried and tested route - Pearson/Rogers (can't stand either man, but Pearson would definately give them a kick up the arse) or up and coming talent - Rowett/Robinson (would they come to a club as ****ed up as ours?), or some old crowd favourites Gareth Ainsworth/Shaun Derry/Ian Holloway with Warnock holding their hand?
Agree with Beth, I'd like to see Karl Robinson get the job with Warnock as his right hand man I also hope once we've cleared out some of the big timers we go out and sign Nakhi Wells in the Summer.
We should of done everything to get Sean Dyche into our club at the beginning of the season. He has the ability to get the maximum out of limited players and sells them on for a fortune. Exactly what we needed since we acquired Lee Hoos. They could work in tandem from the off. Dyche has a game plan and persists with his best players on a continual basis. I believe he has the record of playing the same starting eleven for the most successive times in the Prem. Something we at QPR are crying out for. We kept Fer, Sandro, Austin and Phillips. Get someone who can play them all and get our club kick-started again. The expectation has risen but none of this lot have played as a unit yet? As it stands though and the relegated side from the Prem are thus ... Hull - 1st Burnley - 2nd QPR - 13th Unless we can prise Dyche from Burnley ... Get Pearson in, I can't stand the bloke but he knows what his doing. I liked Ramsey, but he didn't have a clue. We need a decent Championship manager who knows this league and the potential in the lower leagues. With the funding we have we can add one or two additions to bolster the squad in January, as that should be all that is needed with this squad.
What ever TF & the rest of the crew decide one thing I will predict is that they will get it wrong. They might be multi million/billionaires but one thing they dont have is the Midas touch when it comes to QPR
Reasonable shout - not much experience and has done well so far with little money. You could be right. But the truth is that: 1 Reputation counts for little when it comes to managing the expectations of an owner like ours and a fan base to match. 2 Success elsewhere where the manager has had the patience and backing to nurture a team does not guarantee that he will be successful with us. Interesting times ahead. 3 The Board have a short term goal - get a man in to motivate our 'stars' and to get us back up in the next six months without putting us in danger of another FFP fine for this season Stop the bullshit. Fernandes needs to make that clear, leave it to his new dream manager and then zip it till June.
Reading between the lines I have a horrible feeling it may be Sherwood. It's a pity TF can't sack himself, it's getting to the point I actually wouldn't mind him going bust if only to get shot of him...
I'd be happy if we could tempt Hoddle back - or maybe Robinson. I'd also be ok with Rodgers (he got Norwich up well) or hang fire until Mclaren gets sacked at Newcastle, which can't be far off. Please God not Sherwood though...
Hi Norway ................. I've thought long and hard over who should be our next manager. Whoever it is, we can't let our heart decide. Our decision has to be made purely as to who will get us the best result for the remainder of the season. Warnock knows the club and MAY be best suited to steady the ship for the remainder. Sherwood would be a total disaster ................ forget what I think of him personally, facts are he has no proven background. Pearson also has the ability to polarize people, maybe even moreso than Sherwood but at least he CAN coach and coach well. He won't take no crap and will get players working for him. So at this stage, it is either Warnock for a smooth, steadying transition but short term ...........OR Pearson to hit the ground running. I don't like Pearson but I'm not looking to marry him, I just want a good, 'take no prisoners' manager, who the players will respect and act upon. Pearson it is.
