Two seasons ago they finished 6th and last season 4th. Apparently they have been plagued by injuries this season.. A lot complained about Clement because of his lack of attacking ambition. Carvalhino received praise for Wednesday's passing game and attacking style and he said in his interview that's the way he likes to play Some are having a go before he's even had one game. One poster said they hope Belgium would have a **** tournament so Martinez would come back. You really want a manager who's team have a **** tournament. The nutcase Blelsa has been mentioned no one in their right mind would want him if his recent antics are anything to go by.. I think if we signed pep and brought in Messi, Ronaldo and the like some of you would pick holes. We have all been disappointed by performances this season but true supporters would get behind the manager and team at this crisis time at least until it's all over.

We lost our pulling power to attract good players a few seasons ago so we have to get back to basics and look far and wide for that Michu type of player that are out there somewhere,,,,Even in our lower divisions and non league football to find a player who shows the right qualities like Trundle had.......For this though you have to have Scouts who know what they are doing in recommending the right player,

Dai, the market has changed dramatically since we bought Michu. No club will ever get a player of the same calibre Michu was for £2m again.

An average player now costs £10-£20m because of Man City, Chelsea, PSG etc.

Wages are a big problem as well.

Warnock is looking for a couple loanees. Expecting to pay a million on top of wages.

one day the football world will bring in a salary cap so it tries to equalise the teams but it seems the top 6 will always veto a move

I cannot see why wages are a problem - you are worth this we say to a player - take it or leave it, I wounder how much that lazy fker Fer gets paid for stealing oxygen
Earlier in the season you wanted to re-sign joe Allan. The interview with Jenkins suggested that when he went to stoke they offered a 5 year contract on a bigger salary than the swans would pay. Your fans were up in arms that your board didn't try hard enough. Sounds like they tried your approach and it didn't work.
We'll be in the exact same position. Warnock is looking to sign a premier league quality player or two. They're not going to be wanting to take pay cuts.
Similarly for yourselves. You want better players you're going to have to pay bigger salaries. Buying a player is one thing. Paying him is another.
It's like cars. Blow all your cash on buying an Aston Martin. Hmmm, insurance is a bit steep. Not many mpg. Bugger , those tyres are expensive.
Total cost of ownership. Often overlooked.
We've had a couple decent barn finds this season. Mendez laing, damour, bogle. Running costs are currently low. They will go up though.
Supply and demand.

I for one cannot understand the love affair with ex players - they left and everyone wants them back, Bony resigning was a disgrace

This again is utter bollocks on Huw's part. Stoke, a few weeks before the Joe interest popped up, had a £8-£10m bid for Ki rejected by us. We also then went and paid £4m for Fer. Those fees would have paid for Joe. It's just Huw spouting bullshit again.

There's a big difference re-signing a former player who has succeeded and one who hasn't. Allen plays every game for Stoke, probably the first name on the team sheet and often their MOTM. Bony barely made the bench at Stoke. Guess which one we get back (and on eye watering wages).

Joe would probably be our captain now.
