Why would that make any difference.......Lets just wait and see shall we......This is a step up for him and he is keen and confident ...Not that that makes you the right man for the job, ....He has met the players and took a training session already and lets not forget the club chose him probably as the cheapest option but we will never know for sure.......I'm pleased we have now got the managers position sorted and lets see how he does in the weeks to come.......COYS

Why would they go for the cheap option when they have a 90m war chest? <laugh>

Not convinced at all. Looks like another cheap option.

Happy to be proven wrong though.

But to be fair who wouldn't have been the cheap option you would have picked, we weren't exactly swimming in great options, I think he will be ok in an impossible job. of all mentioned he probably is one of the cheapest but doesn't mean he is worse as all of the others have been sacked for a while now and haven't jumped straight in to another job.

Time will tell.

I'd have gone for Pulis personally if the aim was still to stay up. Why not give him a 6 month contract?

Because it dont matter if the club won't back the manager whoever they employ then they all will find it difficult. ....We need backing with hard cash now for anyone to have a fair crack of the whip....

But his record was worse than Clements over the last 10 or so games and like clement plays for a draw and hopes to nick a goal, I would prefer to go down having a go at trying to win games.

not exactly awe inspiring this season. but I get he was some choice, just to similar and as negative as Clement for me.

That said, we've just appointed someone who was in 15th place in the championship. I'd have been far more convinced of staying up under Pulis.

yes I get your point, but Pulis was taking WBA down hadn't won in the league since august, but to be fair ghad been ok in previous seasons. Look at the last 2 seasons under carvahal and they have been good, every appointment is a gamble at our level and after years of getting it right we have found a knack of ****ing it up in recent times, lets hope this one is another rabbit out of the hat and back to the good old days.

Agree, all if and buts, but it doesnt matter who the manager is if Carvo isn't allowed to bring in some serious quality.

Wilshere wants to be at the world cup, i'd start with him.

We need 4-5 top quality signings/loans to give ourselves a chance.

What do you reckon of the new manager then lads?

Carvalhal has experience of the British game, and has done reasonably well in the Championship, he also brings a continental style of play with an offensive edge, which we are in desperate need of, but it will all hinge on two critical transfers in January, that of a creative offensive midfielder, and another Striker of quality, these two positions are critical to our survival and we cannot be short changed anymore, they must be able to hit the ground running, and give the team the confidence going forward it so badly needs.

RB needs addressing also, Naughton is in need of competition badly, Iron sharpens Iron, so lets see how good our scouting team can be, no mistakes please, we are now in the last chance saloon.
