Just watched his interview seems a calm character and likes to play attacking football and of course said all the right things. Makes sense to give him a shortterm contact because he knows he needs to do well and if he doesn't it avoids a large compensation payout. So let's be optimistic and not negative and hope for the best. Portugese shootout on Saturday.
Somebody just said to me whya are we employing him he has just been sacked, my reply is as were all the others on our list . I believe he tries to play the right way, he will give it a go, lets see what he is allowed to bring in in January. I am positive over this guy, he has been tasked with an almost impossible job, but you never know in football.
Perhaps not quite out of left field. I was sure we'd been linked before so had a quick look Wednesday boss Carvalhal denies Swansea job links Date published: Wednesday 23rd December 2015 1:45 http://www.teamtalk.com/news/wednesday-boss-carvalhal-denies-swansea-job-links 3 possibilities 1) it was panic 2) we had been looking at him and his sacking was fortuitous 3) we had been looking at him and Sheffield thought it would e a good time to bring in someone else with both clubs agreeing less heavy signing off and on fees. If he's given money an a say in who he brings in he could work wonders.
Please don't put Leon on the coaching staff. He needs to be the first name on the team sheet for the rest of the season. The guy sure does sound confident though.
They all sound confident or there's no point in applying for the job....I cant say i know anything about Carva except what i read and it looks like we have gone for the least demanding person and that is the owners right to do. I would not have gone that way but it's not my or anyone else's decision......We need to get behind him now regardless like most got behind Clement at the beginning and only time will tell if his confidence is warranted or not......He will obviously need a bit of time but we cant write him off until he has had a few games under his belt.....Good luck to him i say and hope he can turn things around.....
Why would that make any difference.......Lets just wait and see shall we......This is a step up for him and he is keen and confident ...Not that that makes you the right man for the job, ....He has met the players and took a training session already and lets not forget the club chose him probably as the cheapest option but we will never know for sure.......I'm pleased we have now got the managers position sorted and lets see how he does in the weeks to come.......COYS
As I said earlier, this is nothing more than a 6 month appointment. Hopefully Belgium get humiliated at the world cup and Roberto comes back.
And you know that Every Manager has to have the Boards Backing whoever they are and on top of that they must have luck.....Whether it's Carval or Martinez,Monk, Clement or De Boer Without hard cash and good scouting then it will be difficult for any manager. De Boer even though he is right had asked for too much money but whatever the owners need to give Carval a substantial amount so he has a fighting chance or he will be fighting a losing battle that any top manager would lose...
No opinion necessary until he has had a number of games and the amount of hard cash he may or may not get.....
