What Big Sam achieved last season with Sunderland was bloody impressive. If he stays there, then I'd be confident Sunderland would finish top ten this season.

His no-nonsense approach is exactly what England need right now.

    Annoying for Sunderland though.

Not a fan of Big Sam to be honest, but what we need now is someone who will play a system, play players to their strengths and stick with it. Too much tinkering and "shoe-horning" players into areas they don't play week in week out. Wales showed that, with only a few "big time" players, you can do really well if you stick to this and play with passion and for the team. We need a manager who will do this - if Sam can, I'll be happy to take that.
Personally - I think they should get Koeman to do it :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Which is why they really ought to give Slavan Bilic a go first. If he really doesn't want it, OK Sam Allardyce. ;)

Thank you!! The first time I saw the avatar I had to look again to realise it was MLT but couldn't think who it reminded me of...

Sunderland confirm that there has been an approach from The FA for Sam Allardyce.

There's a GOD on that coin and all you can see is a donkey. Tsk, tsk. I wouldn't even admit to such a thing. ;)

And besides, what state of confused drug induced paranoia would motivate me to put Kerry Dixon on a Saints badge before the Best Player ever to grace the shirt... eh.?

Think about it. Possibly says more about yourselves.? ;)

I have grown so disillusioned with the England team, that the thought of having fat Sam as manager is strangely un-troubling.
England couldn't make me any unhappier and as a Saints fan, I have always really disliked playing against his teams, so that is at least twice a season that I won't need to worry about it.

When I watch the "decent" nations at international level, we seem so many light-years behind them in terms of mixing ball retention and incisive play that the gap seems too big to bridge.
However, I can't see any reason why we shouldn't be able to foster a decent team spirit and blend that with the quality we do have, to out-perform teams like Wales & Iceland. Maybe fat Sam is the man for that job...

Must admit, although my interest in the England team has dwindled to almost nothing in the last decade or so, if someone had suggested Sam Allardyce as the new England manager as little as 2 or 3 years ago, I would probably have laughed. But to be honest, I think they've come down to that now. One thing you can be absolutely sure about with Allardyce is his commitment, passion and pragmatism. He won't play footballers who are out of form and he's unlikely to play them out of position, unless he has to. Plus, he won't be afraid of leaving out certain players if a position can't be found for them. He would certainly do things his way. Whilst I would prefer Slavan Bilic for one or two reasons, I'd be perfectly happy with Allardyce.

Wouldn't mind Sam,pretty much gave up on England years ago, can't stand Sams idea of how football should be played.
Two year ago I decided not to travel to watch a boring West ham side at St Mary's and missed the usual 0-0.
So go on England give us one more game to look forward to each season.

God, its win win. Weakens that annoying club who flirt with relegation every year then wriggle free. Puts a pretty detestable character in charge of those pampered over paid advert sellers (not you FF / RB), and if it all goes to plan we can send the twat to Russia!

Sounds like it could be Big Sam for England and David Moyes to return to English football with Sunderland.

    Interesting...
