I don't know why Ole Gunnar Solskjær always gets mentioned when we're looking at managers.
He has no connection with us other than that we have a lot of ex Man U kids.
I think he is currently the manager of Molde in the Norwegian second division and as far as I've noticed he hasn't been mentioned for any recent managerial positions in this country.
Is that because we are the only ones that rate him or because he's happy where he is? Either way he seems like more of a long shot than anyone else on the list.

To be honest, OGS would be a great choice (and my choice), he has good ties to United (which would help the Joyce connection) and won the league with Molde FK, who actually play in the top division (The Tippeligaen). Molde actually have some quality players, Jo Inge Berget, Magnus Eikrem, Magne Hoseth and Vegard Forren are all full internationals for Norway. Plus they wouldn't have to move really, just get a P&O ferry across three times a week.

Mick McCarthy when you read through his CV has a great record, you may not like him but at this level he has built sides and done very well. His record in the Premier League mean nothing to me, if he gets us there i don't care how we do.

However my favourite would be Lee Clark, maybe just on a personal level i want someone who is a young manager, with a good reputation and has fairly good links with other clubs. He has a decent record, and i think he would try and continue on a very similar path to what Nick has being trying to do.

Lee Clark would get my nod, but I've a feeling the Allams will go for a manager with a track record as they're quite ambitious for us to get into the PL & won't be patient again for a younger boss to mould the team over a few seasons..

Davies or McCarthy would be a safe bet, won't be overly popular with City fans who think we should get Guardiola or Mourinho..

OGS hasn't ANY experience of managing in England.

Joyce, although popular is a bit out of touch & has a cushy job already unless... unless he thinks SAF's reign is coming to an end soon and Moyes taking over..

Horton & Brown - never go back, it hardly ever works out..

Laws - **** off

Managing us would bring him nearer to a high profile PL job so we could be an attractive proposition for him if he wants to one day return to Man U in a higher role so he becomes a possibility.

The reason we would target him (or Joyce) both now and when NP left is that if we got him in it would be an effort to make sure the Man U kids we have got are more settled because of the familiarity, sort of a continuity despite the change for them. Maintaining the Man U link would be an additional benefit, but it's more the history with key players that matters. At least when I suggest him that's the thinking.

I'm surprised so many rate Lee Clark, the Udders fans say he plays ****e football, he spent way more than anyone else in League One, yet still couldn't get them up(losing play-off's to Millwall and Peterborough) and his biggest achievement seems to be not losing for a long time.

I'm not saying he's crap, but there weren't many Udders fans complaining when he got sacked.
