I've already been told the kit is striped and that Tiger Beer sponsorship bollocks gets rolled out ahead of every season.
I think you can over do the tiger thing. Tiger stripes would just bring more ridicule so no thanks. I have heard the sponsor might be Tiger Beer though. Honest.
This is from the hull city fans forum o facebook: A brief Message from James Mooney reference a shirt Leak that has been doing the rounds which he has asked me to share with you all: "We will reveal the Away shirt first this year and that will be next week. Our new shirt deal is huge (biggest in our history by a long, long way) and the sponsor would like to be in the country for the launch – so the home kit launch will be at the end of July and will feature the new shirt sponsor. The front of the away shirt will feature something a little different for the opening 3 friendlies. Don’t mind you sharing this info with the group." Wouldn't be surprised to see 2017 Hull on the kit for the first 3 friendlies then. Can anyone think of any sponsors who won't be in the country until the end of July? Hopefully whatever company our new chairmen owns
I'd think the Hull2017 thing would be a good shout if our owner wasn't a petulant twerp. Expect it to say Hull City Tigers across the middle then... Would love an airline but it'll either be betting or booze.
If you fix the 1904 spacing error then I personally prefer the current badge over the last badge. I think it looks retro and also quite classy especially when you see it in the right context. (Programmes, entrance to stadium, TV graphics etc. The previous badge looked so dated and the fonts/layout was also out of date. For me it defines our Adam Pearson, Peter Taylor, League One, Back to Back promotion and Premier League first time round years. It looks 90's/early to mid 00's. We need to move forward and except change. I understand that many people are bitter over it because of their disdained for the tigers/Allam situation. But I wonder what people's reaction to it would be had the whole Tigers situation not happened. I personally would like the club name on the badge but I would also like a complete redesign like other clubs have done recently like Man City and Everton etc.
Why is our club always last to release shirts? some clubs release their new shirts at the end of the season and we release it 2-3 weeks before the start of the new season.
Because we wanted to negotiate a new sponsor after getting promoted. Clubs who released theirs at the end of last season were already into a sponsorship agreement. And as stated that new sponsor wants to be in the UK when we launch the new kit, which is entirely the norm if they're paying a wedge.
I appreciate this but it happens every year. the anticipation for the start of the new season kills me and this year its just dragging as we haven't signed anybody, there is no kit yet, no news about the takeover. its just too quiet.
There's also the knock-on effect. if we now launch a new kit next May everyone who bought this season's kit will - quite rightly - complain that it was out of date after 9 months. Because we've been late to the table in the past, we have to stay late to the table going forwards unless we offer a discount incentive ie wear your old shirt to the club shop and buy the new one for £30.
i understand that, but they could release the styling of the shirt and then leave it until july before releasing them for sale. But the offer of wearing your old shirt to get a discount sounds a great idea. You should pitch that to the club.
The new sponsor is Turing Pharmaceuticals. Never heard of them but a quick google suggests they're quite big (and quite disliked) in the states.
