Do you find Smithy that when a celebrity version of something comes on you've never heard of any of the celebrities? Thats me, I never know any of them from Adam <laugh> Mind you they're barely born some of them!
You're not alone, Maggie!! <laugh>
Celebrity Pointless last week, didn't know any of them. And they were all as thick as mince! <doh>

I lived in Tottenham from 1940 (birth) until 1964. Haven't been back for a while and not sure if I could manage the flight now. Probably spend 7/8 hours in the toilet!!!!Talking about Arsenal.......they are spending a lot on new players.Whose paying for it?

I think Chelsea's finances are more suspect. I cannot understand how they were worth so much (not just my opinion but football finance people said it). And then they've spent a fair amount on new players. But wasn't it the case that they effectively always ran at a loss under Uncle Roman who simply "loaned" them the difference? And the talk when he "left" was that they were losing massive amounts of money, and some of the sponsors that they did have quit. Yet now nobody is talking about their finances or FFP etc. I wonder how this is working, or indeed what is in it for the owners who I don't think are there just to pump money in for no reward... unless someone can tell me otherwise. Are they there to sell the ground for development? Can they? Whatever, there is more going on here than people are talking about I think.

`1. The Chelsky project allegedly once upon a time
had a '10 year plan' to be running as a
"business of own account" , and that date was 2013.

When it became clear they could never attain
that level, Roman allegedly just said eff it and
went unashamedly full Sugga Daddy FC.

2. There is "FFP" , and there is FFP.
UEFA have one such regime, the PL another.
The latter for a long rime was never near as
vicious as the former (the financial motivations
for each had different priorities) .

UEFA had the opportunities to make the point
and punish Sugga Daddy FCs, but bottled it when
Citeh went full "lawfare" (thus making the point
that these FFP schemes will never punish the
true perpetrators) .

Chelsea Pitch Owners is a non-profit that owns the freehold and Chelsea's name:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chelsea_Pitch_Owners

Our current manager is a shareholder, as is Mourinho.

Interesting, thanks. But that being true, it makes the price paid to takeover the club even more bonkers. £4.25 billion to buy Chelsea, £300 million to buy Newcastle. Now given all the rubbish we can say about things being worth nowt oop North, surely Chelsea can't be worth 14 times what Newcastle is? It doesn't even run at a profit, and since this years' salaries aren't going to be much different to last season, I don't see how it's going to this year either. If they can't get the stadium land then it makes even less sense.
