I found this bit of marketing blurb for Nike STADIUM.....
This week marks the launch of the new 'Nike Stadium at Firmament' space in Berlin, Germany. Nike Stadium spaces are new multi-purpose spaces that will serve as the destination for some of the newest and most innovative products from Nike. These new stadium spaces will be launched in a number of cities all over the world including Berlin, London, Milan, New York, Paris, and of course Tokyo.
"Multi-purpose spaces.......the newest and most innovative" - this sounds exactly what Spurs are pushing in relation to the new stadium and it makes sense of that weird kit launch video which was almost totally to do with the stadium and hardly featured the kit at all. Nike had to be in on that and all of the 'Watch Us Rise' marketing makes a whole lot more sense if they are partnering with us in a much bigger way.
I'm guessing that the stadium may well be called 'The Tottenham Hotspur STADIUM' permanently and that explains why we'd have a logo for something that would only be used a few times a season - it isn't going to be. In my opinion, this is the name for some time to come. Even if it's a stop-gap, it's ****ing brilliant because it's marketing with the very lightest of touches and any other sponsor really wouldn't have to deal with it being known as another visible brand name.
It gets around the UEFA naming issue and deals with Nike not having its name on any one stadium, which they've seemingly fought to avoid. The STADIUM range is the sponsor and it ties in perfectly with what that range is all about. If we don't get called 'The Emeroids' or something like that, I'll be ****ing chuffed.
'The Tottenham Hotspur STADIUM'.........I like it.
I hope LastMinute.com sponsor the stadium in honour of our transfer policy.

Of course Harry Hotspur is massively opposed....I am sure he is a secret Gooner troll.'Tottenham Hotspur ST/\DIUM'.
Excellent. Straight forward and to the point.
The hacks appear to be surprised at the name, what did they expect us to call it?
The 'Not Ponsing off the London Tax Payer Arena' of perhaps the 'Better and louder than the Sh!tehole Down the Road Stadium', or even the 'Looks nothing like a Fekking Birds Nest Bowl'? The Spurnabeu?
Come on hacks, get real. Good choice, it promote the name of THFC all around the world. Nice One.

Does anyone else think his real name is Alan Michael Sugar? Bitter old fart.I swear he didn't used to be like this. I think he must have had a major life trauma 2-3 years ago
Didn't the club ban selfie sticks a couple of years ago?I swear he didn't used to be like this. I think he must have had a major life trauma 2-3 years ago
I smell another Harry Hotspur blog incomingInterestingly, football.london have stated that the cost of building the stadium is way off the doom-laden 'guesstimates' of The Mail and Standard...
"The new ground, which is set to cost between £350m and £400m on its own amid the overall £850m-plus development, is set to officially open on September 15 with the Premier League match against Liverpool."
There's a number of construction experts and an accountant that post on SSC, who has audited football clubs for 10 years, and they've long agreed that the cost of the construction of the stadium is £500m at its absolute maximum and likely to be significantly less. The £750-800m was always to include the hotel, ticket office and everything in Phase 2.
An interview with Donna Cullen suggests that the 'TottenHam Hotspur ST/\DIUM' name is free from sponsorship. I'm just not buying that. It may be a stop-gap but using what is a Nike trademark is not something that you'd do for no reason. There's going to be a whole lot of Nike stuff in that new shop [NFL as well as trainers, football boots and other non-Spurs branded stuff] and we've been selling Nike England shirts recently, which I don't recall previously. This is a lot more than your usual football shirt supplier/football club relationship.
It will be like the Return of the Jedi death star, "Now witness the power of this fully armed and operational battle station. Fire at will, commander."Was at new WHL on saturday.
Even assuming that functionally it will be sufficiently
"test event" ready, again to me it looks miles away from the
entire stadium (facade etc) being fully completed by the
Poool game.
The thing with all building work is the guts of the building do take a bloody long time, but exteriors go up pretty damn quick. The best example I can think of is The Shard (since I was looking at the site every day I was waiting for a Charing Cross train at London Bridge) because for over a year there was nothing but the concrete core facing the platform that was slowly creeping upwards, but when they started adding the actual floors of the building the facia filled in rapidlyWas at new WHL on saturday.

Time will very soon tell.
Levy knows only too well that the haters have their "articles"
ready and waiting for any part of the stadium exterior/interior
that still looks like a building site come the Poool game.
Hairy's today blog is likening Tottenham on matchday to East Berlin, because we have a traffic plan in place. i.e. avoiding the fek up that is Wembley.I smell another Harry Hotspur blog incoming
No, wait, one of my cats just used the litter tray...
I'm not, either. I think it's done already, but they're holding back on the announcement until everything's done.An interview with Donna Cullen suggests that the 'TottenHam Hotspur ST/\DIUM' name is free from sponsorship. I'm just not buying that.
