Nothing concrete, club still awaiting feasibility study which is due in the next few weeks before progressing things further. As for time scales if it's upgrade at SJP then nothing will start before EURO 2028.

If it was something along the lines of what that youtube video was showing (which for the record needs taken with an industrial warehouse amount of salt) then I suppose something could start beforehand but by the time the tree huggers are sorted and then the ecology studies get done (assuming permission from council was granted).

FWIW that video had flaws galore in it. Strawberry Place is a massive concern - that road is the main artery road for the hospital for the entire west end of the city. I get people say build a tunnel but they clearly forget there's a metro station already under there.

The Fan Zone has an initial 3 year permit so nowt happening on that during that time period.

Leazes Terrace can't be knocked down, can't be rebuilt and can't be moved and has a "rite to light" so other than getting very arty with the East Stand those videos showing it being built up to the size of the Milburn have to be wrong.

The Option C version looked to be the best option of the bunch but would require permissions galore. Also the final stages of the video showed them making out we could play at SJP for a couple of years whilst they built 3/4 of the new ground then showed them demolishing SJP before completing the last stand at the new ground - Must be hellishly quick to build that entire stand in 3 months of pre season.
Couldn’t the stand be built over strawberry place leaving the road at the same level?

Possibly. Not an engineer by any stretch but people I know that have more experience have said they think there's issues for foundations etc with the metro underneath. As I say though, they've not seen plans, been on site in that capacity or anything like that.

£100's of millions? Most spectacular and innovative in the world? Can't be right - our majority owners have lost interest. Focussed on their own league now, to our detriment. CC assured me that this was so.

Indeed. And we'll never be as big as Aston Villa. We (the NUFC fans) just need to deal with the facts.

Don’t quite understand. What does an expansion of 8000 look like and how would that be worth the millions it would cost? Doesn’t sound like they’re going to “complete” the stadium, seems to me they’d only upgrade the end, but I guess we’ll see.

100s of million won't do anything close to best in the world although if it's the higher end of the 100s it would be pretty decent.

This is great news.

Progress right. That’s what we wanted.

Not many want us to move site so this seems the most logical decision.

Can’t wait to see the plans.

Technically, it probably wouldn't be the best in England (though it already is...), seeing as Tottenham's and Wembley both cost over £1billion.

Exactly... 100s of millions really wouldn't get anything close to that. It would cost over a billion to start getting close and it would take longer than building it new.

I will await the actual plans and numbers because hundreds of millions isn't very telling, but I'm guessing it'll be 500 million at least.
