James Connolly has gone to Morecambe on a season long loan. Good move for him as I doubt he would have got much time on the pitch this season.
Four hours to capture JCH! Personally, I can’t see it happening. We’d have to completely smash our transfer record and I reckon a bigger club, perhaps in the Championship, will swoop at the last minute. Either that or he stays at the Posh. I’d love to be wrong.
Ryan Jones ha joined Bromley until 7th January on loan, Ryan Loft is undergoing a Medical at port Vale and JCH has been given permission to talk to an unnamed club to finalise a transfer
Bristol Live are reporting that we’ve agreed an £800,000 fee plus add-ons with Posh for JCH. That smashes our transfer record out of the park. Quite extraordinary - that’s if we’ve got the deal done in time because it’s 11.10 as I write this, the window is closed and there’s no confirmation from the club. UTG!
With Ryan Loft joining Port Vale on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee and us failing to get JCH, it leaves us with just Marquis as the only striker. Typical Rovers.
More info here from Peterborough's end. https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk...reed-move-to-bristol-rovers-collapsed-4278057 JCH travelled by taxi from Portsmouth (where Posh were staying as facing Pompey today) to our training ground. He passed the medical. Did everything what was asked of him. This means our offer was accepted by Posh with plenty of time to go for JCH to arrive and complete the stuff he had to do. But the club was late a by couple of minutes sending the forms off. Amateur hour by our club once again.
Can we get him in January? We if he continues to scores goals for Posh, other clubs will come in for him. Posh will probably demand a higher fee too. But he's out of contract next summer. So he may decide not to sign for anyone but to run down his contract and be available for free next summer and choose whoever offers the highest wages, which won't be us. He'll have his pick to choose from. We've just messed him about and wasted his time, which could also mean he misses out on playing today for Posh because of all the journeying last night. Why would he think about coming back to us again?
I'm just mad with our club and wondering what excuse they will make. Negative I know but I have woken up thinking I can't be assed today.
I’m beginning to think that the lad Gorringe who’s our CEO doesn’t know what he’s doing. The South Stand debacle and now this - it smacks of incompetence and amateurism. You just have to get the basics right - it’s essential to have all the paperwork ready to go on deadline day, especially when you’re trying to make a record-breaking signing. Plus anyone with even a little knowledge of the Bristol planning process will know that it takes months and months to get planning permission. He’s overpromising and under delivering at the moment. The new owner has stumped up the cash but the CEO has let him down.
I can’t see us getting him in January for the reasons you gave. I’m afraid that the JCH ship has sailed. Bloody annoying.
Our lack of striker showed today, Brown just seemed to wander around Collins worked hard but didn't get much support, Thomas put in a good shift but there wasn't much creativity A statement from the club re JCH on the club web page
Think his last club was Reading and some of their fans said they were glad he was leaving because he was no much use, if that was true then no he wouldn't be a good signing
