We have been warned- don't expect promotion until we break even. That could be 2 or 3 years. I wonder what Garner thinks of that? It means we won't be spending any money in January, selling the likes of Leaburn and Henry seems more likely if breaking even is top priority.
Reminds me of how Adkins tune changed from the last game of the season to the middle of the summer window. When he was probably lied to. I hope Garner is with us long enough to implement his style. I’m still convinced this is the case. Once Leaburn goes, Kanu will be first team regular. Just my opinion.
You have to wonder why Henry doesn't even make the bench. His contract runs out next summer- something going on?
Henry, Chin and Forster-Caskey all out of the match day squad today. But I wouldn't read too much into that. We're all tending to look for the negative explanation for everything that happens on a day by day basis (myself included). There are things going wrong, fairly serious things too. But I don't think every event is woven into an all pervading tapestry of failure.
No, but the thing about Henry is that he scores goals, has assists and is the best player we have with a dead ball. Fraser is the only midfielder we have who scores goals, and we need goals from midfield.
Conor Washington only proving what many suspected all along. He wasn't fit to wear our shirt. What an immature chump. That tweet he's laughing at is a crass insult. We're well rid of him.
@Dick Plumb1 posted on his forum yesterday evening that there's been another sacking at CAFC - not on the footballing staff side apparently. I wondered if it might be Tony Keohane.
My streaming service account is up for renewall. There's a rumour Raelyn might be planning to put herself on Charlton TV. Drawing with FGR was tough but I draw the line at having the owners girlfriend do the pre and post match stuff!!
As one fan said on the Charlton Live podcast, those who want to force TS out should be careful what they wish for, we could become another Bury.
Sadly my view. There is some real myopia in the Charlton fans ranks. We saw what happened when RD offloaded the club and we were bought for a quid by a couple of asset strippers, and here we are again wishing for the same outcome, but now without any assets to strip. Sandgaard is currently doing everything RD did, and badly needs a rethink and maybe some investors to join in. But wanting to force him out? Yeah, worked great last time!!
I think a large number of fans just don't appreciate the seriousness of CAFC now having no ground or any other assets aside from players. Nothing appeared to change, to the casual observer. We still play at the Valley, match-days seem more or less the same etc. On one forum there is a fantasy thread about what top manager would fans like to see come in if a new owner takes over and spends unlimited £millions. Scott Parker was the first offering. An utter denial of reality. The next owner after TS will likely be the last one. And chances are CAFC will be the next Bury. But protesters can't see it.
'Cause I'm movin' on up, you're movin' on out... My friends, it’s great to be here with you on the Not606 Charlton Forum. The fact is that my defence of Thomas Sandgaard became a distraction from the major parts of my ongoing support for Charlton Athletic. That is why I am no longer proceeding with it. Supporting Charlton Athletic is the right thing to do morally and economically. Together, we can unleash the full potential of our great football Club. That is how we will build a new CAFC for a new era. Up the Addicks!
Now, just like Liz Truss, Lardy has to make another U-turn; https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/ben-...ime-not-down-to-contract-appearances-trigger/ I withdrew my support for Thomas Sandgaard only 48 hours ago because I was told Ben Garner was forbidden to play Jake Forster-Caskey because the next time JF-C played in a league game a clause in his contract would trigger a wage rise, which TS was not willing to pay. I assumed this was a rumour and asked for evidence. I was assured it was the truth, by @Dick Plumb1 whose integrity I wholly accept. So I chose to believe it. Now Ben Garner has specifically denied that it is the case. I still trust Dick Plumb, I know he would never be dishonest about something like this. But whatever source had informed him is clearly wrong - unless Ben Garner is a liar. I guess I should have stuck by my original wariness of rumours. Thomas Sandgaard has still made some serious ongoing mistakes. But I still have no evidence regarding any of the rumours that he is dishonest or of bad character, or deliberately misusing his position to harm CAFC. Sorry Mr Sandgaard, I owe you an apology
