I'll have a look through later so can't say one way or another but Pickford went in June and those accounts could be up to past that if they want. No idea what months Sunderland usually pick but they don't have to pick the tax year if they don't want, can use any months for the accounting year. You may be right though, not got time to look through now. Back later
Aye, but looks like without he Alvarez fee and with some wage cuts we were close if we’d stayed up don’t it.
Not really any news but here's the latest: SUNDERLAND TAKEOVER LATEST: Stewart Donald expecting positive news as situation draw to a close Stewart Donald’s takeover of Sunderland AFC is set to be given approval from the EFL this week. By Andy Tomlinson on May 14th, 2018 7:00 am please log in to view this image It’s been a couple of weeks now since Ellis Short agreed a deal for Stewart Donald and his consortium to takeover at Sunderland AFC, but the club have been on hold since then as they wait for the EFL to give their approval to the prospective new owners. Thankfully that process is almost over now, with the consortium hopeful that the takeover will be given EFL approval this week. With more information set to emerge on Tuesday, the club may finally be in new hands by the end of the week and Donald can start work on preparing for life in League One. please log in to view this image The first thing on Donald’s to-do list will be appointing a new manager - with Chris Wilder still the clear favourite - to replace Chris Coleman who was fired by Ellis Short shortly before the takeover was agreed due to a clause in his contract that would have seen Coleman earn an extra £1.3m if the new owners wanted to remove him. The club also need to resolve the futures of a number of key youngsters, with the likes of George Honeyman, Joel Asoro, Josh Maja and Lyndon Gooch all in the last year of their contracts. A squad overhaul needs to happen due to relegation, a large number of players being out of contract or leaving the club on loan, and high earners needing to be moved on. So with pre-season being only six weeks away - which will also require pre-season friendlies being arranged - the takeover being completed this week will be a much needed boost. Donald has expressed on numerous occasions over the last few weeks on his Twitter page that he’s raring to go and is just waiting to be given the green light, and with the takeover about to reach its conclusion it’ll be interesting to see how things kick on from here - particularly tomorrow, when Donald and his team are expecting that they’ll hear some positive news from the EFL regarding their due diligence.
Is the second picture of McGeady begging to be paid better money for the coming season?? Wish it was just all done so we could concentrate on getting the club back on track
Just had a closer look at that pic and I dunno who it is, blokes got an earring in. Yeah, it's an awkward period of waiting, but it says that there should be some news today though.
It wouldn't be Sunderland if something didn't drag out painfully, but in this case it's understandable and everything seems like it's on track to me. TAKEOVER UPDATE: Latest on Sunderland’s ownership situation & our managerial model going forward Sources close to the club have told Roker Report this afternoon that prospective Sunderland owner Stewart Donald has received some positive messages from the EFL regarding their due dilligence, and he is expecting to hear something definitive from them towards the end of this week. Donald’s former club, Eastleigh FC, yesterday confirmed that he had agreed to sell the club to remaining board members - one of the conditions that he was expected to meet to push through his purchase of Sunderland A.F.C. Despite the situation dragging on for a number of weeks now, the process which the EFL undertake when giving an ownership change the go ahead is often a long and drawn out one, but with all key details - such as proof of funds - provided by Donald and his team some time ago it’s understood that both the new and old owners have tried to apply pressure to the governing body to push through a sale as quickly as possible. Ellis Short is incredibly keen to get the deal over the line, and has held meetings this week with the EFL to ensure that a resolution is met. On the managerial front - whilst rumours have circulated that the new owners would prefer to adopt a ‘Director of Football’ model going forward, our sources have told us that the plans - in the short term at least - are for the club to appoint a strong leader going forward that has full control of goings on. When a Director of Football model is adopted it often muddies the waters, and with Sunderland’s next appointment being perhaps the most important one in the club’s history it’s our understanding that the new owners are set on just having one man at the very top - and they already know who they want to put in charge once they are able to do so. The man on everybody’s lips is Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder, who is priced at 1/4 to be Chris Coleman’s replacement in the Stadium of Light hot-seat. Wilder worked previously with Stewart Donald at Oxford United, and he has recently refused to dismiss speculation that he’ll be the next Sunderland manager when questioned by the South Yorkshire press.
Donald meeting with EFL executives tomorrow to try and expedite his purchase of our club according to The BBC Website. it's thought that meeting will not bring a final answer to his attempts to take over the club. it looks like next week at the earliest before any positive news is forthcoming.
With the FA during the Sam going to England episode and now the EFL dragging their heels over this take-over..the English football authorities do seem want to stick it up us at every opportunity.
Chill, it will happen, takes at least 6 weeks to buy a two up two down. This a whole football club with millions of pounds of real estate to change hands.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/6272535/married-sunderland-stewart-donald-bid-tycoon-lap-dancer/ He's got other things on his mind too to be fair. Like what to do about dumping his wife and children for some blokey looking lap dancer. Look at the size of those mitts
Aye it turns out it's not just women who like a bit of rough. Mind you as long as she isn't put in charge of transfers I couldn't care less what he does privately. Even if it does suggest he's a bit of a ****.
According to BBC Look North the meeting with the EFL was called by Short and they believe that part of the deal gives Short the next two parachute payments.
Takes all sorts. Difficult to judge from afar - it is The Sun spinning it. For all they know his wife could be an utter **** of a woman who was battering him weekly. As long as his private life doesn't become a PR disaster for you guys then I can't see how it matters. Its money and direction he's needed for. If he wants to ram some 'female' lap dancer its up to him.
Yeah who knows, I think his wife had recently given birth when he left which is pretty much always a dick move in my book although I don't know the circumstances of course. Seems a decent enough bloke from what I've seen of him though, I like him so far.
