Experienced something earlier in the season when a few people in a Facebook group were referring to ehab as a camel riding twat and I accused them of being racist and they feigned innocence.

It's not something I'd say, and certainly not something I'd publish, but it is absolutely no worse than the sheep shagging jibes aimed at the Welsh which are rarely ever criticised.
Probably because the Welsh aren't subjected to racism that manifests itself in ugly ways, and only ever in the form of chants at football matches.

Conversely, when supporters hiss during spurs matches or make other anti-semitic remarks, it is investigated.

racism only works one way I'm sorry to say which is why this country is ****ed

Yep that example is terrible. Abusive, aggressive racism should always be dealt with the same way.

However making jokes about the Welsh - in our case New Zealanders - that they themselves don't find offensive but just humorous, is fine. If people are actively offended and upset by those remarks, then they fall into the first category.

Fans?

Or fan?

I don't find it 'depressing' at all. I think comments like that go way over the top in some sort of hopeless attempt to 'morally make up for' someone else's mistakes. I couldn't give a single **** if some random **** I've never met makes a racist comment somewhere, which we all seem to have admitted, hasn't even offended any of us personally.

Besides, I've seen posters get away with just as bad on here... and not606 probably has a much greater readership!

His comments are obviously likely to offend somebody however and he should know better... I suppose I'm just moaning about consistency here. If someone is the sort of person that needs to preach and take the moral high ground even when they're not actually offended about something, then fair enough, each to their own and they're that sort of person... but at least be consistent about it. I didn't see this reaction when the Brighton jokes started to emerge on the other thread the other day...

There have never been nationally televised debates on the Welsh comments either and I don't recall a civil war whenever someone has taken a pop at Spring Bank due to immigrants etc.

Is the difference simply because this occurence has actually offended the supposed 'butt of the joke'?

I'm also not sure what 'damaging the cause' means either... far too much token idealism going on here for the sake of some knobber that wrote some stupid **** and looks likely to be reprimanded as a result.

I've no idea how many people contributed to the article, hence I said fans. If it's singular then fair enough.

I don't think they generated this.

Seems it was some COC volunteer with too much time on his hands and an unclear concept of what is racist.
Whether the Allams generated it or not , it's another negative news story on the eve of a game.
Is it true there will be a collecting bucket on Argyle St for Tenfoot City legal fees?
Perhaps super Blade/Interista Paul Heaton can do a benefit gig at Grafton?

Hmmmm. so the law is subjective and depends on how offended someone 'feels'.
Utterly barmy.

You just make yourself look a bigger ****ing dick than you already are with your first sentence.
If posters don't know stewey, it's a pity ci got rid of all their history. You could all see the racist ****e he came out with on a daily basis.

Nick's comment to me on Facebook - 'at no point did the writer call "Allam" a Camel-Shagger. That's your own inaccurate perception and deduction. Please don't post un-truths my mate.'

Dozy twat.

Perhaps they should have just said 'ferrari driving twat'?
