We should have a bit of fun appointing the new mod and have a little format using polls.

4 groups of 4
Quarter final
Semi final
Final

I have to say I find it quite amusing that a site is letting it's users pick a mod (without a proper process) - on all the sites I use/mod on, if one leaves and there is need for another (are three mods really needed?), then the site owners/other mods decide who is the best person for the job and ask/appoint them - there seems many flaws in allowing users to pick one in my opinion.

It's called democracy. You don't have to vote if you don't want to.

Yes, which is why I put the caveat "without a proper process" - many sites appoint their mods my vote, but usually there is a full and proper process ensuring the person is capable - there are many names on mentioned on here who seem to struggle with basic English, which is hardly a great starting point.

It's a football site. We're football supporters. Pomposity isn't a prerequisite for nomination here.

No pomposity (nice use of the word btw) here, just stating an opinion on how I find it unusual. Modding certainly isn't rocket science but nor is it the joyous and delightful experience it would seem some think it is and certain traits are required (talking from my experience on other sites)

I dont really have a preference to who the new mod will be, but who ever emerges, I hope that he moderates in the same style as OLM, not too over the top, quite witty, and his biggest attribute which was common sense.

The secret of good modding is to enable people to speak freely, not let your personal feelings/thoughts interfere with what others opinions are, listen to your fellow board members and react rationally rather than knee jerk.

I have faith in you to vote for me, Miff. I filled-in for you and continued posting porn on a daily basis when you disappeared for a few days.

....and also post nude pictures of women on a daily basis.

you think Ricardo should conduct a "fit & proper person" assessment for the not606 mod-job?? next you'll be advocating due diligence and good corporate governance.. <doh>

Two Posters that I would support have been reduced to one in the past 24hrs. So it would be ISTPLT for me. Erik's slight misogynistic tinge regarding female board contributors put him outside of my top 2.

Will be interesting to see how the females on here vote when the poll takes place.Probably most will abstain!
