Nah, just keeping an open mind until I see whether we go forwards or backwards under the new guy.

Bedwetting would be something like predicting a 14th placed finish before even knowing what the squad will be by September or something like that.

Until we know the squad , it's impossible to predict the league position irrespective who we have as manager

Orange just worships the ground acun walks on

Despite saying I disagreed with Rosey sacking , said that early recruitment was scattergun and that he misspoke at the fan Q&A.

Still haven't developed the emotional intelligence to grasp nuance then?

Until we know the squad, manager and have seen 10 or so games to see how the players buy in to the coaches approach it's impossible to predict anything. Especially in the championship.
Can be in the relegation zone after 10 games and still make playoffs and you can be top 2 after 10 games and still miss playoffs...

(Or indeed be 4 points of playoffs in December and still get relegated bottom - ask Grant and Ehab.)

I don't believe this. Straight after sacking Rosie Acun said he won't hang about and new manager will be appointed in a week to 10 days. Its been over 2 weeks but still moving like expected. He's either lying now or before

Or just characteristically optimistic?

He stated it as an aim, but was careful of making a definitive promise.

More fool you for believing what he’s saying

Acun’s transparency is refreshing but he’s not involved in the dirty side of running a football club. If it was Tan, fair enough but these things take time

If anyone listened to Simon Jordan ex club owner discussing Chelsea he said that there is no way these days managers scout and pick players , it’s usually a team of about 5 having input and putting selections forward for the manager to decide . I think for the most part Acun did this with Tan and scouts / coaches involved, so he did nothing extraordinary - except maybe he wanted some well known Turkish players included to attract attention / profile , acceptance in his homeland, again nothing unreasonable there IMO

No one suggested Rosenior did or should have scouted the players, just that he have input on who was signed and not be pressured to play players if he didn't think they deserved a spot.

He absolutely is.

He's the one that flew out to hold talks with Walter.

The more I read about Walter’s style of football and watching those full Hamburg games online, the more it reminds me of Thiago Motta’s ‘2-7-2’ formation at Bologna where the numbers represent the vertical lines of players rather than the typical horizontal method of numbering in formations. The left-winger and left-back are a ‘2’, all the central players including the goalkeeper are the ‘7’ and the right-winger and right-back are the other ‘2’.

Both Walter and Motta have their keepers playing almost as a third centre-back in build-up. This is different from how Rosenior uses the keeper during build-up and even most positionist coaches like Guardiola, where the keeper is crucial to playing out from the back but usually stays in and around his own box. Hamburg’s keeper under Walter is almost near the centre circle during build-up, the two centre-backs push forward and rotate positions with the full-backs.

This is Motta’s system at Bologna.
