City continued discussions with Tim Walter over the weekend and are positive about concluding a deal to appoint the 49-year-old German head coach. Sources have told Hull Live that while contracts have not yet been signed, the club remain hopeful of wrapping things up in the near future.

Doesn't really sound like it's being announced today.

Yeah that sounds like end of the week. They’ll have to get a shift on if they want to do the retained list under the auspices of new management, though I suspect they’ll just use the one that Rosie had drawn up.

It always make me wonder when discussions go on for a while what it is that is the stumbling block. If there is disagreement due to one side or the other over contracts it’s not the best of starts. Would love to be a fly on the wall.

You'd imagine Tan and Acun would want to do the retained list themselves, even if they hadn't sacked Rosie, considering they want to be in charge of transfers?

I think the manager does have some input. I don’t think anybody would take a job in the Championship if they were told they weren’t allowed to sign the players they wanted and only the owners could.

We sort of know who it will be anyway and yeah Tan will probably do it.

Yeah, you'd hope so. Acun is quite clearly interested in playing real life Football Manager though, so hopefully he's not too much of a control freak.

Sounds like the decision's already been made and those affected already know. Connolly does at least.

Sounds like it’s got Pedro martins written all over it :)

I wouldn’t keep any of the senior out-of-contract players. Traoré is good technically but can barely play 60 minutes a week. Legs have gone due to all those injuries catching up to him and he’s behind Tufan and Ömür. Connolly has had his last chance. Sharp was useless. Christie has been ****e since his injury and has barely played all year. Docherty is a good lad and works hard but is technically limited. He’ll have suitors in Scotland and League One.

After that, we need to get the likes of Woods permanently off our wage bill and see if we can get some money for Longman and probably Sinik too.

I'd keep Traore as a depth option if his wages aren't massive. He's got an option, we might as well activate it because he's one of the few players we can bring on to do something different. But yeah the rest can go. Doc could get a gig at a lower Championship club, if he went to the SPL, I think he'd do incredibly well as energetic players tend to shine up there.

I have it in my head Traore is on quite a big contract, in which case activating an option might not be great value.

His wages probably aren’t cheap though, mate. At least from what I’ve heard. He was one of the major signings alongside Tufan and Seri in that first summer under Acun.

Having watched a few Rangers games recently, I think he'd fit straight into the side
