i think todays result should have zero effect on whether dawson gets the role or not

you either believe in dawsons methods and philosophy and man managament etc and take the risk and appoint him
or you don't
one or two results should change nothing

incredibly shortsighted
Absolutely agree

What happened to the 'loads' of people interested in getting the job.... Rosie will forever be HCAFC, BUT, he's not the right man for the job.. period...

Can I ask to those who know more than me, is the new manager situation a consideration in financials...?

Most managers would rather have 1 point than no points so they fail at the interview stage.

It’s always going to be a factor. Managers don’t cost anything like what players do unless they’re literally world class, but it still makes up part of the club wage budget.

I prefer to look at the performances as results can be misleading. Early on in the season under Shota we were winning games but the performances weren't actually great. We had large slices of luck and Oscar flying that really skewed the results and papered over iffy performances.

Usually if performances are good, they turn into positive results.

Today in itself shouldn't have an impact, but the improvement from when Daws took over to now, definitely should. All of a sudden, there's probably half a dozen players who looked completely out of sorts who are now playing very well.

Lets rephrase the question, would you replace Daws at this time, with someone else?

Yep, I would. What Dawson has done in the last month or so is fantastic, but for me we should still be aiming to bring in a top manager. It's great to know we're in safe hands at the moment and also who better to work with the new manager and help him settle.

We're clearly struggling to bring a top manager in though

I still think appointing Dawson full-time would be a risk that wouldn’t come off. It’s giving me Solskjær at Man Utd vibes. Let’s not get carried away. Blackpool and Rotherham were great wins and Dawson’s did an excellent job in both those games but I’d still want a more experienced and better calibre coach full-time.

BBC Gossip
West Brom have held talks with former Derby County boss Liam Rosenior over their vacant manager's position. (Sun)
I hope this doesn’t make Acun think Rosie is the man to go for. I really like him as a person but he’s unproven. Dawson and his team have done brilliantly - just keep them. It was a mistake to ditch McCann when we did just when things were really gelling and confidence was high. The grass isn’t always greener. And the fact that a team like West Brom are looking at Rosenior means it won’t be too long before people are sniffing round Dawson and team. Get them all signed up.

Perhaps part of the problem in recruiting a new manager were the lamentable performances over the previous 8 weeks... anyone looking at the team performance over the last two games may think differently..

But dawsons equally unproven, his scunny stint didn’t go well. He’s had two good results against Blackpool and Rotherham. I’m not sure how you can say no to Rosie and he’s unproven but give it to Dawson.

Because Dawson and team have transformed the attitude and style of these players - the ones we have - and the players know and respect him. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Perhaps leave it for a couple more games, but certainly don’t rush to appoint Rosenior.
