They have to earn the right get a shot at the top clubs. Potter has done that. Couldn’t name another top English coach who’d have a chance at one of the top 6. You’d think if they were good enough they’d get a chance but they don’t. That’s not a coincidence.

Eddie Howe , unless you want to deny Newcastle are among the top 6 in terms of finance

You just wonder whether Acun is putting any pressure on The Coach to play certain players irrespective of their current form? I find it both bizarre and a little intriguing that Arveladze was pushed at the 11th hour, there was little or no reason this didn't happen a fortnight ago.

Any incoming manager with any self respect and decency will want assurances that they are solely responsible for picking the team on match days.I could be totally off track here but something stank about the way that was done yesterday.Did Shota walk, was he pushed, did he refuse to carry out an instruction based on team selection...I'm just a little suspicious about the events that led up to Andy Dawson being pitched in to the deep end at such short notice.
As I recall the team sheet was late in coming out, I fully expected Jim Simms to be named, at least on the bench. Is that an indicator that something untoward happened in the lead up to kick off? I truly hope not, because if that was the case, and Acun was making decisions who the coach could select, then I don’t think any manager will last long.

Scott parker - yes
Carvalhal - Yes
Think i would prefer Parker to be honest..knows the league and way to play.... but i doubt it will be.... (Probably not tall enough for some)
Slutsky - why not fair starts on Friday......

anyone who can say to most of the players FFS get stuck in will succeed, the talent is there.... just need a bit more ummmf and stop playing out from the back and we will be great.....

Parker isn't an option, both financially and the fact he's ****ing ****.

I'd rather have Hughton than Carvahal.

In Baz's Q&A he confirmed it doesn't

It would be a crazy good appointment, he probably deserves another crack at the PL.

It was the type of appointment I expected us to make when Acun came in. To have these massive dreams yet bringing in Shota who's CV was okay, but nothing special

Oh well Baz is the financial expert I suppose.

The reason Leicester haven't sacked Rodgers for example is the cost of paying him out which would count against their FFP which is incredibly tight.

Carvalhal isn't a bad shout. He took Wednesday to the playoffs twice, did alright with a ****e Swansea team in the Premier League and is a bit of a nasty bastard.

He's currently at Al Wahda in the UAE, so he's probably on quite a lot of money.

So, we have a bit of headroom left we're using to replace him which means there's more juggling required and less wiggle room to make player changes in January.

Sadly.

Of course you've been sayin Acun's skint for ages so the FFP isn't an issue. He can't afford it anyway.
... And you really haven't a ****ing clue if you think Leicester can't afford to sack Rodgers, although I'm quite sure they'll happily curate his services for a substantial fee.

Did someone say In an earlier post that Acun was in the UAE ?
Dunno. But Carvahal is where I'd put my money

I'd prefer a Hughton or McClaren type on a building brief. Mid table this season and a push next should be the expectation. It's always gonna take time, a couple of windows, maybe the owner needs to make a signing or two at the behest of his coach not himself and provide a bit of stability in order to find the balance IMHO.
