I agree with Captain (this must be a first) Billy Mac would be worth a shout as long as he had a good coach motivator, along side him Danny Murphy ?. There are some good players in this team, who it appears who are not fired up,or cannot implement Jols strange tactics which are not suited to premiership standards. Listining to one of todays match commentators who said ,i have not seen this season a team so devoid of ideas and aparent interest, and a manager who seems aware of his forthcoming fate.
For me, the best combination I think we could have at the moment would be to bring in either Mackay/Hoddle as manager and have Murphy as the assistant. I think part of the new set-up has to involve someone that has ties to the club. When Murphy said regarding the Riether shirt swap that 'that wouldn't have happened if I was there' that was exactly what we need. Do you think Berbatov gave a toss about the incident, or even noticed? His face was pointed toward the ground as he trudged off, he doesn't care and Jol won't make him care.
Why aren't you saying that as coach he has to take some blame aswell? What info is saying that he's worth a shout? Out of the pan...............
Cravingawin surely Billy mac as Jols coach has to implement the instructions of his boss Jol A good call is Hoddle when we were in the Sanchez era was not Ray Lewington one of our coaches .
You make a good point, rosc, about Ray Lew and Sanchez, but Ray Lew didn't get the permanent job after him, did he? I never suggested Billy Mac either - my internal appointment suggestion was Kit Symons. He has the benefit of knowing all about our youngsters while still being a new face (and, hopefully, a breath of fresh air) on a daily basis for the players. I think giving the job to Billy Mac would be a bit like when Wolves sacked McCarthy, then gave the job to his assistant. Instantly, they lost the chance to change the atmosphere and the feel of training sessions by putting them in the hands of someone who had been an integral part of the old regime. It's harsh on Billy, but I don't think he's the right man for this job at this time.
This is total rubbish. Theres no passion from anyone on the bench. Including Billy Mac! Who is motivating the players. It can't all be laid at Jols door can it?
Don't want McKinley in the club at all to be honest. I think a lot of the set-piece failures and poor marking are down to him. Jol manages the team but the coaching must be the province of the Coach - okay, the tactics can be flawed but teaching players how to mark, who to pick up and, how to jump off the ground in some instances, is the Coaches job. I think McKinley is a bloody awful coach. Sitting on the bench with his hands stuck in his armpits. He can go when Jol does.
The club need to back him or sack him. He's got until June before his contract ends, the club need to show faith and say we want you so we'll extend or look for someone else. If the club had said after last season here's another 2 years, we want you and here's a few quid for 2 players you need I don't think we'd be in this mess. Throw in the change of ownership and the historical sentiment about not being the owners choice I'm not surprised at all that we find ourselves where we are.
None of Jolâs currrent backroom staff seem to be doing their job. Billy Mac in particular has been disappointing and seems to be totally in Jolâs shadow. Put simply the main two lack gravitas. Look at their resume as published by the Club. Somewhat surprisingly itâs headed-up by Michael Lindeman who on the face of it is the âfitnessâ person. Michael Lindeman http://www.fulhamfc.com/the-teams/staff/michael-lindeman Billy Mac http://www.fulhamfc.com/the-teams/staff/billy-mckinlay PS Then of course there is Cornelis Jol - âFootball Operations Managerâ !! http://www.fulhamfc.com/the-teams/staff/cornelis-jol
