Something is happening at 2pm, do not know what, keep an eye on the official site everyone.

Was well excited about it being the new manager and only to find out it was jackman signing a contract , he is a good player but was really looking 4ward to seeing new manager . UTG

In the OS piece about Jackman is this

"The 29 year-old fans favourite, whose contract was due to expire at the end of June, has put pen to paper on a new one year deal, which is sure to see him play a major role in the new Manager's plans for the 2012/13 campaign."

Major role in the new Manager's plans? Do they know who it's going to be? Is there something holding up the announcement? Urgh I just want to know who it is!

lets put it this way west brom have just appointed a completely new person to management in steve clarke so its clearly not something thats clubs shy away from if the person has the right credentials. the one thing people seem to have forgotten is that these managers have been interviewed by scally and hess so would have had to show that they can work with them, so maybe the person with the best credentials could clash with them and therefore not get the job. as for the odds i reckon its stab in the dark and making movements to encourage betting rather than anything substantial or they could just be looking on here to see whos getting mentioned!! :P

jokeykid - I agree, these stories are having a massive influence on the betting. Stephen Constantine has now gone to evens on both Skybet and the Sackrace from 9-1. Whereas Lee Clark is the odds on clear favourite for the Birmingham job.

I think it looks like Constantine is going to be our man, however it was started by a Twitter campaign so this is very strange, has Scally looked at it, I don't know but seems all strange as it is not a obvious choice.

Was it started by Twitter, I thought he was mentioned before the twitter stuff started

Strange one this scenario, because it is my belief that it was indeed started as a twitter campaign as a bit of a joke. Then snowballed from there into apparent reality. Or maybe not if recent twitter rumours are to be believed!

Stephen Constantine has a website, which is quite detailed, within contained an email address. Now I could create a website under the name of Stephen Constantine and subsequent email address. Would I want to go to such trouble, not at all. I had a reply from that email address and obviously I checked the detail within it plus its source, which if I remember correctly links back to a UK yahoo address. For those that do not know, I could use my hotmail address in the states, you do not have to be UK based. Also another source is the Cypriots club own website and Chris Dickson's twitter account who has tweeted in respect of Stephen Constantine and the Gills job.

So at the end of the day, you have to weigh everything up and I had nothing to disprove it was not genuine. You would have to be one determined muppet to wind Gills fans up to this extent.

ps. forgot to add that another media source also contacted him and reported the conversation confirming his interest, although this does not mean he got an interview.
