I wouldnt expect much has happened yet? The betting interest in the gillingham manager isnt likely to be much, so a small bet from someone could change the betting prices and some people start getting excited!

If there are any truth in these so called rumours about announcements tomorrow. If I had to have a guess this would be more to do with player contractual terms, then a new manager this soon. What is the deadline for this activity. I assume as an employer we cannot legally just keep out of contract players hanging on until a manager is in place, or can we? The reason my thoughts are on players is because did the Chairman not say it would not be until the end of the month before a manager is in place.

Yeah I hear the same, Martin Allen is now favourite again, was on my list straight away but then we heard nothing about him, so we will have to see.

I think you could keep a player after his contract was up to train whilst his future is in limbo, quite similar to a trial situation with any players we are interested in I guess.

I also doubt that the managerial position is going to be filled tomorrow as that would involve PS doing a U turn on his approach. That said, he may have spoken with Allen and been completely sold on him and after Hess talking to him may give the go ahead. The assistant manager to whoever comes in is what has plagued me today, Allen didn't bring a number 2 for both of his most recent Barnet stints and we couldn't afford a replacement for Hendon; I really hope we don't have a one man management team again, too one-dimensional.

Have been intrigued at some of the names banded around, nothing is impossible, or indeed out of the question Steve Bruce, another Hess, dont think it right, to choose another x player so soon after using an x player.
Certainly no way to Martin, Paul Ince hmnnn great player, but is he for the Gills.
2 others who have been mentioned are good friends, Steve Coppell, thought he is now involved with Crawley .
The other is one I would love to get on board, the players loved him at Forest and so did the fans till he openly said something against the board, then he was on his way BUT a GREAT manager and could and would move us on, has great contacts Billy Davies, brings out the best in the worst, given the right backing he is our man.

anyone mentioned Glenn Hoddle, I think fat Eddie Murphy is a good:laugh: option. Sorry i ment Ince.

Firstly I must apologies I haven’t been on here for over a year. I had to save up for a new wheelchair after the Swindon fans nicked it and beat me up after the away game in October. I couldn’t afford broadband and had to cut back on other expenses like only 3 meat n chips per week. But it was worth it. My new wheelchair is bang tidy. It has been spray painted blue like the mighty giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilllllllllllllllllllllssssssssssssss

However I have some great news. No word of a lie. I was just in the bookies putting a bet on when I saw a bloke that looked remarkably like Lawrie Sanchez waiting out a side. He had a massive smile on his face, like he had been given some good news. Next thing I know the bloke in front of me (he was wearing a suit) in the que joined up with Lawrie. Could that have been his agent perhaps?

It would be amazing if he was our manager. He has a great managerial record, managed at international level (including beating England) and took Wycombe on a fantastic FA cup run.

He also looks well ‘ard with them thick rimmed glasses.

If he does come I hope he brings izale mcleod. What a player

Im going to wheel down to the fortress Priestfield to see if I can see anything. Ill keep you posted

Bazza Fry is a legend. love him.

both people mentioned there would be great. we need someone young, fresh with new ideas. we just need someone to take us back to the upper echelons of league one - where we belong

UTG

not a fan of Allen. dont trust him at all. hes a mr fixit not a long term loyal type manager

Good on Barry, sure Scally will not be happy, good to hear about Mark Robson, but not sure about Andy Scott even though he done a good job at Brentford I am not sure, however Robson has not been a manager yet so either could be a risk, anyone could be a risk saying that, you don't know what any manager will do, will just have to see, it is football know one is guaranteed success.
