I was being serious.
Ramsey had too much going against him when he got the job the first time. I said then that there were too many big names and ego's who wouldn't listen to him. Yes i wanted him out because we were told we wanted an instant return to the Prem: now it's different.
We don't know about FFP fine yet so I cannot see us bringing in new players, so what is the point of a new guy like Clement or Dim Tim?
Just look at the list of names linked? Seriously I didn't want JHF gone to see him replaced by any of that lot.
Agree with some of that. There was no point sacking Jimmy for most of these names. But we need to be looking at an urgent return to the PL. We need investment in a better Manager than these bookies favourites and some very good player replacements first thing January. With this the 6 points up to the play offs is doable. I like Ramsey but can't see him doing that, and a start needs making now not January. Clement maybe, Pelegrino perhaps?

I like you Paul and think you could be the best manager we've had in years but you're a mug if you take this poxy job mate. Have a word with the family and get that Harry Kane kid from Spurs on loan.

The way this club operates we'll probably sign Danny Ings from Liverpool for the rest of the season.

Mouse saw Les just before he sacked Jimmy and said he looked like he had something on his mind.
I didn't want Jimmy anymore but a bit harsh to give him that sort of ultimatum especially with Polter up front he had no chance.
And we had never won at Forest....

The Chairman, Mel Morris

On 1 June 2015, he was appointed manager of Football League Championship club Derby County, who had sacked Steve McClaren after finishing eighth the previous season.[7] He was sacked on 8 February 2016.[8] His final match was a 1–1 draw against Fulham.[9] They were in fifth place at the time was sacked.[8] He finished with a record of 14 wins, 12 draws, and seven losses.[10]
Clement was hired by Bayern Munich in June 2016 as their assistant manager.

Mel Morris: Paul Clement's short-term view cost him Derby job
Clement lost sight of plan - Morris
Derby County owner Mel Morris insists promotion was never the aim this season and says head coach Paul Clement was sacked because of his short-term view.

Clement only lasted for eight months despite the Rams being fifth in the Championship, five points off top spot.

Morris told BBC East Midlands Today: "Up until the last couple of weeks we've been trying to work with Paul to get him to embrace the plans we set.

"But I just had no belief that was going to happen."

The Rams are still in the play-off places following a seven-game winless run, but Morris reiterated the side's lack of progress and failure to plan for the future as the reason for Clement's surprise dismissal on Monday.

Morris said this season was about building on the "Derby way" and style of football, "adding depth and strength to the playing squad" and "developing and improving player and team performance".

But as recently as November, Morris had said Clement could be Derby's Sir Alex Ferguson and build a dynasty at the club.

Riding the rising tide and not rushing promotion
Morris, who took over as chairman in May 2015 and became sole owner in September, added: "Paul's horizon was shorter term than ours. With all good intent I think Paul had a slightly different view.

"He was the one who wanted promotion this season.

"We wanted to build on the squad, develop them, get on a rising tide of performance and let that carry us through into the Premier League - whether that was this season, next season or beyond. I think, for Paul, that was too long a view.

"We have to get this squad working together, developing and improving play and we haven't see that enough of that this season."

A safe pair of hands
Former Rams defender Darren Wassall has stepped up from his position as academy director to succeed Clement as head coach until the end of the season.

"We need someone who understands the culture and philosophy," Morris said of 47-year-old Wassall, who took his first training session on Tuesday.

"Darren has had two years working with us on that, besides the previous time he had with the academy.

"He is probably the best motivator we have in the club. Right now he is a really good, safe pair of hands to stabilise the ship and get us back on track while we begin the search to see what we do for a long-term appointment."

Derby spent around £25m this season with Bradley Johnson, Jacob Butterfield and Tom Ince all joining
Don't mention the 'P' word
Lifelong Derby fan Morris said winning promotion at the expense of a longer-term vision was simply the wrong thing to do.

Morris referenced the disastrous top-flight campaign of 2007-2008, when the Rams went down with the Premier League's lowest-ever points haul of just 11.

They were the only team in Premier League history to be relegated in March, managing just one league victory all season.

Morris explained: "We got promoted and we had already peaked by the time we went up and you saw the aftermath of that.

"When Paul was hired, we spelt out the plan.

"That was to take the squad that we have had for two seasons, who had almost got us there, to add depth and strength to it and then to look at player improvement and team improvement and we just haven't made enough progress - it's as simple as that.

"It was never really a target this season. I said that in the fans' forum, reiterated it again in November. Paul was told on day one that was not the target."

'I have never picked the team'
Morris denied rumours he had interfered in team selection and said he had no regrets about going into the dressing room after the 1-1 draw with Reading on 12 January.

"I see the team sheet just as I am about to sit down to lunch on a matchday," Morris said.

"There has never been any chance of me trying to say 'here's who you should play or how you should play'. That was always Paul's domain.

"Every player he has wanted, he has had. All the signings were all signed off by Paul.

"We put a lot of money behind him, even up to the last couple of weeks. At any point in time, Paul could have embraced the plan we had."

I like the supposed view of Clement that he wanted his team promoted that season. They were 5th, why not!

Sherwood opted for Aston Villa over QPR and was subsequently sacked for being crap.
He's now favourite to manage our team. I will be pretty peeved if he gets the job.

I don't care how good your pitch, you ain't getting 3 mill.

He became the man because he is the only man who's been able to channel whatever talent Adel possesses into a team framework. Think of that. Then think of all the other managers AT has played under. And then think of how good NW was for us.

Followed that advice and thought about it three times but didnt change my mind NW wasn't popular at the start ... Taarabt at that time started it all on the pitch and the team gelled and confidence and belief grew
NW has a great relationship with QPR but also failed when we stepped up as he signed players that destroyed everything very quickly
I won't ever forgive him for that
He grew a great QPR out of nothing

I will never be concerned about Adels other stuff only interesseted on the playing stuff he was the heart of that side ... we were different and he was brilliant in that side . It was when everyone started getting clever pulling that side apart when it when wrong imo

A team hits a groove by more than any manager imo most **** it all up imo when they tinker

What we have now is just renewed hope every year it seems and we are no different

Should sign Solly March imo for however much as he is back and could be our new Dave Thomas

QPR will always be about flair imo nothing else matters to me win or lose

Where exactly are we now?

Football needs flair it's the only recipe for success long term

Managers are on the whole today are idiots

Not in a million years are Brighton going to let him go... especially for the peanuts we would be able to offer. Furthermore why would he take the step down to us.

When/if he goes it will be in a year or two to a Premier League side. And at some point I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the fringes of the England set up.

I think we might have to be a little (a lot) more realistic in our ambitions tbh...

Not strictly true is it? all we know is that Sherwood interviewed for the job, there is no evidencentre he chose villa instead or that he was even offered the qpr job anyway.

THE LATEST IS THAT THE IDIOT FERDINAND IS NOW LINING UP SHERWOOD WITH RAMSEY AS ASSISTANT
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT IDIOT VILLA BRING STEVE BRUCE WHO GOES ON AN UNBEATEN FIVE MATCHES WIN

Why do we have to be so predictable with the ex Spurs clique, really not surprising I guess:-

After former boss Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink was sacked on Saturday evening, after the R’s 1-1 draw with struggling Nottingham Forest, Tim Sherwood is poised to replace him at Loftus Road.

Reports last week suggested that Sherwood was already close to becoming the manager of QPR despite Hasselbaink still being manager, but with Hasselbaink now gone, the deal is nearly done.

The Evening Standard also understands that former R’s boss Chris Ramsey is going to work closely with Sherwood with the club reportedly upgrading him from his role in charge of the youth team to become Sherwood’s assistant.

Sherwood was a success at White Hart Lane with Spurs but that was followed by a disastrous spell at Aston Villa last season.
The 47-year-old has never managed in the Championship but his experience of working at the top level may come to good use.
QPR fans will hope he can replicate his successes at Spurs instead of his torrid time at Villa
.

QPR fans… Are you happy with Sherwood as your new manager? Should they have sacked Hasselbaink? Who would you appoint as your new manager? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Only success he ever had was with a team that wasn't his. Got found out at Villa but that doesn't matter to his mate.

Please say this is just lazy journalism, based entirely on the report in The Standard this morning, which definately was lazy journalism
