Still don't know how Sparky managed to do a decent job at Stoke when he was abysmal for us. NW is the one manager over recent years that I have any time for, and as for Harry and those knees.........

It is truly a mystery of modern man !!! and he has/is doing a good job there ???

The psychosis that afflicted him while he was with us, is a conundrum, that perplexes, even the greatest minds this planet has.

Hasselbaink leaves QPR in 17th place in the Championship table, six points clear of the relegation zone and six points off the play-offs, with Fernandes clearly feeling that QPR needed a change.

Dougie Freedman: Ex-Nottingham Forest boss Freedman has been linked with a number of posts since leaving the City Ground in March, and you can add QPR to the list. The Scot is now 10/1 to become QPR boss, but his limited success with Crystal Palace, Bolton Wanderers and Forest mean that he may not be the first choice for many R's fans.

Paul Clement: Clement has a major connection to QPR given that his father Dave played for the club, and his odds have been slashed tonight. Currently serving as Carlo Ancelotti's assistant with Champions League giants Bayern Munich, Clement had an unsuccessful spell with Derby County last season, but remains highly thought of as a coach. Now 7/4 for the QPR job, Clement is the second favourite to replace Hasselbaink.

Former Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood

Marc Bircham: Former Canadian international Bircham is something of a QPR hero having racked up more than 150 league appearances for the club, before becoming caretaker manager in 2009 and later a coach until joining Ian Holloway at Millwall. Now assistant coach at Arizona United after a spell with Chicago Fire, Bircham is surprisingly in at 14/1 for the job this evening.

Gareth Ainsworth: Another former QPR star, 43-year-old Ainsworth played over 150 times for the R's during his career, and even had two spells in caretaker charge of the club. Now in League Two managing Wycombe Wanderers, Ainsworth has 38.4% of his 219 games in charge of the Chairboys and his impressive work means he's now 20/1 to return to Loftus Road.

Tim Sherwood: The odds-on favourite on Sunday has remained in the same position tonight, and is now as short as 2/5 for the job. Formerly of Tottenham and Aston Villa, Sherwood has a close relationship with QPR's director of football Les Ferdinand having worked together at Spurs, and the hot favourite for the job appears to be closing in on replacing Hasselbaink.

Dougie Freedman and Karl Robinson have applied for the QPR manager’s job.

Freedman, who began his career at Loftus Road but did not make a first-team appearance for the club, is looking to return to management eight months after leaving Nottingham Forest.

The 42-year-old Scot (pictured above) spent 13 months in charge at the City Ground and has also managed Crystal Palace and Bolton.

He left QPR to join Barnet in 1994 and went on to play for Palace – where he had two spells – as well as Forest and Wolves.

Robinson, 36, guided MK Dons to promotion to the Championship in 2015, but they were relegated after one season in the second tier and he left the club last month following a poor start to the campaign.

He was not seriously considered for the QPR job before it went to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink but could be interviewed this time around.

Tim Sherwood was immediately installed as the odds-on favourite to replace Hasselbaink but appears to be out of the running.
Sherwood, a close friend of Les Ferdinand, worked with the Rangers director of football during their time together at Tottenham and more recently had a spell as Aston Villa manager.

He is one of a number of potential candidates the Rangers hierarchy have discussed, but by Monday morning the chances of Sherwood being appointed looked slim.

QPR’s owners are admirers of ex-Derby manager Paul Clement, now assistant to Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti.

The 44-year-old son of former QPR and England right-back Dave Clement was lined up to take over at Rangers following the departure of Harry Redknapp in February 2015.

Clement had a short spell as Derby manager

At the time he was Ancelotti’s right-hand man at Real Madrid and wanted to see out the remaining months of his contract at the Spanish club.

Chris Ramsey was therefore installed at QPR initially as a stop-gap, but impressed during the early stages of his time in charge and was given the job on a permanent basis.

Clement subsequently took over as manager at Derby, who sacked him in February this year with the club fifth in the Championship table.

Hasselbaink, fired after Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest, became QPR manager in December 2015.

Kenny Jackett, then facing an uncertain future at Wolves, was strongly suggested to Rangers’ owners but they chose Hasselbaink.

Jackett, who was assistant manager at QPR for much of Ian Holloway’s reign as boss, recently took over at Rotherham.

Birmingham manager Gary Rowett was also in Rangers’ sights last year but stayed at St Andrews.

Holloway, currently working as a television pundit, would be a popular choice among many fans were he to return for a second spell.

Steve Cotterill, briefly on the coaching staff at Rangers under Redknapp, wants the job.

Wake me up when it's all over. Logged in several times today only to see the same articles reprinted from several different sources - the only thing that changes are the betting odds. The only name that vaguely inspires me is Clement but, like Sherwood, he was too greedy last time. It's not as if Bayern couldn't afford to replace him so if he has suddenly seen the light and return to his roots and the team he supposedly supports, good for him. I will be surprised though. The genius known as Tim Sherwood however has been well and truly found out so it's a 'No' from me.
 
I wonder if the Derby thing is a red herring. Sparky made huge errors at QPR and learnt from those and has not done the same at Stoke.
Clement may (or may not) have made errors at Derby but hopefully he will have learnt from those too.
Anyway, with a Derby win rate of 42% for Clement, compared to Jimmy's 27%, I'd be happy with that as a start.
Come on Paul, just imagine that thunderous welcome at HQ.

Yeah but Sparky's got some real class internationals in that squad up there that can play great football without any guidance anyways so it really doesn't take much for anybody to do fairly OK there with that team. All we had were Mercs.

I think the team we have now could do more than Jimmy got out of them. No one world class but better then we've been of late.
We will find out soon enough though the first game against Norwich will be a challenge.
