Cheers

Not much noise for Zenga outside of that sun report.
Usually stories with substance end up coming out from several sources relatively quickly

Imagine it's Zenga's agent. Can't imagine that his name has even been mentioned within the club...there are dozens of people who'd be more appealing options.

Note he doesn't waste his time expecting us to be sensible on here....very wise, Connor.
I find it very amusing that so many people have spent so much time discussing this and still no one is any the wiser. I am for Pellegrini for no other reasons than I know who he is and he seems a decent bloke but I wait to be surprised by the final appointment.

I'd like a high profile manager too, but only if he fits. I'd also be happy if they pull one out of left field that was one of the club's first choices. Don't like the idea that we end up with a 3/4th choice manager as we keep getting turned down. It's a blooming honour to manage Southampton for ****'s sake!!

So we still haven't got a clue what's going on but the Sun reckons we're getting some guy called Zenga. One minute it's Garcia, Pellegrini the next it's ....Zenga. The highs and lows of being a Saints fan. I don't pretend to know anything about some of the names being thrown about so Pellegrini who I have heard of seems like a real statement of intent. I'm not sure what appointing Zenga would say. Not a lot to me that's for sure. :(

I think it would say "we've run out of ideas".

Any manager who comes here has to be clear that he is not going to have a free hand (other than on the football pitch). He will have input when signings are discussed, but no more than that. We have some coaches in place, so he will be limited to a couple. Southampton has a successful plan and intends to stick to it, so any manager who thinks he is going to build a team in his own image has to look elsewhere. That is why it is so important that we get a manager who matches us...because we are not going to match him. Les Reed said as much at the end of his 2 finger salute to Koeman.

I want him to match us and be good. Is that greedy?

Good is the starting requirement. I think Pellegrini could be right for us even though he may appear wrong...not only is he good, he is a cooperative manager. He's not going to throw a wobbly. And he gets brownie points for approaching us in the first place. Whether all these good points will make Les Reed abandon his template is the big question.
