I know one shouldn't consider looks..........but, really. A face made for radio.

..and cartoons - Mr Magoo.

The problem I have with Eddie Howe is the ego of some of our current squad and anyone we wanted to sign on. All they will see is, no mark player and only managed AFC Bournemouth and Burnley. This will severely hamper and top European recruitment I think.

These opinions are not necessarily mine but I can imagine those collective dumb-ar**s know as footballers thinking that. Also no matter how we admire him and pundits do, it really is not making any sort of 'statement' after we've just been rejected by our last Ratfinks for being 'small' and 'not ambitious'.

Having said that big name for the sake of big name can easily backfire as well.

Basically I have no idea what the right way to go is...

Eduardo Berrizo is a Bielsa disciple and done great stuff at Celta. He has....controversial views on homosexuality though which would likely bring us some unwanted press.

A younger, lower profile manager could fit with the new direction we've heard about. I dunno. Happy to wait and see on this.

Villas-Boas is the antithesis of the British football archetype: erudite, well-bred, and achingly modern and, consequently, he was a natural target for that shouty, xenophobic media core who are still in thrall to the way things were.

I love that sentence. We'll have him I think. I'll let Mr Reed know.

"Well bred"? What is he, a race horse? As for "achingly modern", is this a reference to his suits and beard or his football philosophy?
