They talked with QSF on WD sport he said after a 2 hour meeting with Gino they was not close on agreement for the way forward .I fear for next season . But hey we could get 17th .
If QSF does go, his successor won't want Burnley as his first home game - no manager wants to face a visiting manager who is popular with your own fans straight away.
Garth must have been at a different game to me, neither of our forwards covered themselves in any glory for the first 89 minutes !! To be fair to QSF he didn't have any strikers on the bench to swap it around.
Because they are at Granada trying to prevent them going down Olare appears to be injured So all we have, have had all season are Deeney and Igahlo Without them we would be where Villa are
Amrabat counts as one - despite actually looking much better in a wide role on Saturday.. Sure for most of the season we've had defenders or defensive midfielders making up most of the subs tbh.
According to WD Sport, QSF will not be our manager next season, but neither will Francesco Guidolin. I just hope it is not going to be one out of their stable of mediocre men who let everything worked for this season go to pot.
I remember the season that GT played Luther at right sided midfield (right half in old money). He kept him there most of 80-81 as I recall to teach him what the position entailed and to show him how he should be playing when he was moved back into the attack. In other words to get the midfielder's perspective. Seemed to work, next season he and Ross tore Second Division defences to shreds. Perhaps this is QSF's intention with Amrabat, Capoue, Jurado etc.
So Abdi Almenia will have a spell in goal to help him refind that Fulham top corner again. Lateral thinking, I like it.
The Pozzo's tend to work secretively & player and/or manager signings are generally kept under wraps until the ink has dried. Based on that, the Guidolin rumour is very probably just that - a rumour, one started by a hack on a quiet news day.
Tbh we don't know. It's certainly possible but if they were going to put him here they could have done that before now. He was promoted upstairs at Udinese and it was shortly after that they could have done it. Personally I think we will go for a more malleable and flexible Head Coach who knows how the owners insist training and monitoring fitness etc is done, but a trade up in the standard of the coach - nobody could even guess who. Flores has done well but the problem is he is ultra defensive (and stuborn) and despite having a number of playmakers in the squad has played people out of position, not found the link between defence and attack and not utilised the talents at his disposal. From the outside I'm sure it looks a shocking decision if it turns out to be true but the reasons behind it can be seen, there is some logic. It should also be pointed out that the rest of the coaching staff remain in place therefore creating stability (there may be 1 or 2 of his direct staff that go) and the set-up leaves the players wanting nothing; it is a very continental set-up.
i've read from WD Sport that Guidolin will not be coming to Watford. They seem to know more than most...
What about Hugh Laurie, as the reincarnated attack minded QSF? Imagine him with his Doctor House walking stick BOSSING the touchline....
