Watched a few Huddersfield games this season and its the most hoofball ive ever seen even worse than Big Sam

I'd take Dave Jone or Billy Davies, both have an excellent record in this league.

I said i'd be happy if either succeeded Sven when we were without a manager.

To me its a contest between the chesp Redfern and the dear Warnock now which will Bates choose all hinges on Saturdays result a win and watch this space
I cant imagine Warnock would like the ammount of back room control that Bates has, he told Grayson he couldnt sign someone, if he told that to Warnock, he'd be off.

yea he told grayson he couldn't sign someone (for the first time) because we already have 6 players in that position of which grayson said they were promotion material a few months previous

Walter Smith

Good call and one I was just thinking off. Wasn't really successful in his time at Everton, but his achievements at Rangers and Scotland demonstrate his ability to manage players and to get the best out of them. Smith is a manager who likes his team to defend well and to hit teams on the counter attack and during his last spell in charge of Rangers, when they didn't spend money and didn't have anywhere near the quality of players they had the first time he managed them, they won everything playing this style. He has retired and lives in a nice big house in Upper Helensburgh, so he may not wish to get back into the hussle and bussle of football, especially in another country, still he is a manager I would be happy to see appointed at Leeds and I'm sure he would deal with Bates as easy as he appears to deal with other things.

Why would anyone have a manager that is out of work?
You do know that there is a reason that they is out of work, and that is NOT because they are such fantastic managers!

Or in the case of Walter Smith, retired having won everything there is to win in Scotland on a regular basis, and having taken a pish poor Scotland team and made them a team to watch and who nearly qualified for a major tournament.

I doubt it'll be walter smith. I cannot understand why everyone wants Warnock, he is not the man for the job and it proves to me with the way that taaraabt and barton walked all over him his man-management isn't much better than Grayson's.

One thing I would recommend is that Bates ends all involvement with the football side of the club, and in doing that he brings in a Head of Football person to work with the manager on all things football. Bates and the directors allow the football side a annual budget and they work to it. My own thoughts for such a position is Sir Howard Wilkinson, but I'm sure others would have other ideas!
On the subject of Sgt Wilko, he MUST be brought back to the club in some capacity, especially now.

Unless Wilco's going to work for nowt, you can forget it, Boab. Even if the megalomaniac that is Bates devolved the power to make decisions (which he won't).
