I suspect if somene is hiding their ip behind a VPN or iCloud relay chances are the website will block you, because it can't tell who you are. Even the BBC do this to me when I use their services, I have to go and pause my VPN. I use Nord and quite a few websites block me when I use it. Local papers also see it as an ad blocker, so again boot you out. I don't often get problems on here with a VPN, only on the rare ocassion, it's normally the bigger sites. So if I go on things like my doctors site, I try and remember to pause my VPN before I do it. Nature of the beast for me. I don't use any Apple products, love my androids, although I get through way too many laptops! My most recent one the spring mechanism has gone (busted) where I close the screen flat, not that old either ASUS.

I do use private relay but this has always been fine until last 2-3 weeks.

It’s getting worse and worse.

Yup, because we are having to keep the bots out, if we don't the site will just hang. Worth testing if you can pause the private relay, to see if the site lets you in then, well that's what I would do with my vpn.

It's really odd though because it's not affected me at all and I can't make sense of that, but my vpn is set to the fastest uk server on both my laptop and my android. It works better for me now the site is not hanging.

I’ve had it loads today, I am not using a VPN or private relay.

I think the settings may be a little aggressive.

Trouble is government legislation changed lots of things, which saw a massive spike in VPNs being used. Like you say and not just you, most older people know nowt about this technology that in itself has implications at the user end.

UK age restrictions affect everything, from what category your website gets put into, down to whatever settings your provider has set you at. If that don't link up it all goes bust.

I do nowt special myself to keep myself on here other than ensuring for all websites, I try and stick to the fastest uk server and if for someone reason I do have a problem, the go to is turn the vpn off first.

That's how I guessed we were under bot attack when the site was hanging forever. It's different scenarios for everyone, no one fix is suitable for all, I'm sorry to say. We can only coach and try to help one another.

sometimes it is not just down to the site, as mentioned a VPN can cause problems, anti-virus can, windows updates, firewalls...sometimes programmes that work fine will do the opposite when a new app is installed.

unfortunately, many are very hard to trace/fix and are best found through the old 'process of elimination' and that can be difficult for those not 'tech savvy'.

although i must add that when using linux i see much fewer problems (if any)...and i have no faith in any 'i' products.

I'd been trying to replicate the problem my end, I hadn't been able to, so I guessed my setting must be ok for the site. So what I did as a little test, I switched me to Asia, still worked fine, but then quickly switched back to the UK after purposely jumping around on a few links, suddenly the site slowed for me and hung, so I shut the tab down, reopened a new tab and boom I was back in. It's exactly as you say, a complicated process of elimination.

yup, i don't like commenting usually because sometimes it can come across as condescending, but it can be difficult to explain to people.

i used to tell people off for running 'norton', it was/is a damn good programme/app/util but it would slow computers down to a complete crawl but removing it was a massive pain... then there were those who ran an anti-virus but heard another one was better, then another one so they would add each one and wonder why it all went t1ts up.

operating systems are very good but everything installed needs it's own bit of room, and when other apps dare to venture into the same place at the same time, sh1t 'appens so my advice is usually telling them to remove anything they don't need or use then work from there.

Android phone (samsung) and i have 4 tabs permanently open (see screenshot below). I have those 4 tabs open and I flit between each one as and when. I click on the "4" (circled) and it brings up my 4 tabs.
Ive never had any of the messages im seeing above, and honestly have no issues with the site at all, other than when its a cloudflare issue, then its down for everyone.
Only posting just to see if it helps anyone, or might be helpful as to why im not having any issues.

Same here with the tabs open and not seeing these issues.

It can be quite slow to load though
