Pretty sure we were Umbro throughout that period

I think it went Adidas > Umbro > Kappa

In 13/14 I think it was Adidas, it's the blue/red away kit that I'll always associate with Aluko's goal against Toon (helps it's his name on the back of it!).

Can't we just non conform and do Fred Perry or Trojan clobber and have the tannoys blare out Dave and Ansel Collins "Double Barrel" pre kick off?

Hull skins rule,Glasgow !!
I'm only doing it if we run out to Toots and the Maytals - 54-46 Was My Number.

I was once approached about making Spurs kit, they wanted to be the first club to have a fashion brand as their kit supplier and I knew Daniel Levy's dad and brother. <laugh>

Clubs want shirts quicker than ever, embroidery is a lengthy process. Even stitched on woven badges takes much longer than heat applied so unfortunately they are becoming more and more popular.

If clubs want shirts quicker why does it take us an age to get a delivery
and then sell out and not have anymore for 6 months ?

Will we actually be a priority for a brand like Oxen ?
Does everybody get their shirts made in the same factories anyway ?

Was that two separate people, or one of those Norfolk situations.. brother shagged his sister or aunt or something like that?

Never been a big fan of the current home design..

Hoping City rubber stamp the famous Black n Amber stripes again.

It’s just so unique..

Allam’s GONE.
We have the same stripes/plain debate every close season. FWIW my take is that, if we're serious about worldwide branding and having a recognisable identity, the Premier League shirt HAS to be stripes.

To this day, my Brazilian friends bang on about how that first PL season with Geovanni season felt like a breath of fresh air and how the black and amber stripes were so iconic. We're not Wolves. We're certainly not Oxford, Watford or Cambridge, and not to have a shirt that is so identifiably us whilst playing to a worldwide TV market seems bonkers to me.

It will be stripes. It’s always been plain amber during the promotion season and black and amber stripes for our first season back in the Prem.

If it is stripes, I don’t think we can have stripes on the back with white lettering and numbers due to the Prem’s regulations these days. It will have to be a solid amber back with black lettering and numbers. Look at Sunderland’s home kit this season. I don’t think they realised when Hummel designed their shirt as they planned to have red and white stripes on the entire back with black lettering and numbers but they had to put an ugly white square on the back instead.

Matchwinner went bust in 2025, Avec only really make kits for amateur teams, even Admiral don't do club kits in any significant way (I think Burton Albion are the only league club they're still doing).
Is that the end of the retro stuff then?

Also I’m sure it was either you or Jim who said it’s such a lengthy process from design to manufacture. Going by our recent order process we won’t see a new kit till Xmas if we swap suppliers now

There are a host of reasons for delivery times and replenishment times.

The main one for initial delivery times is the club pushing the deadline to the absolute maximum because they haven't sold all of their shirt sponsors. That's a very common reason I've come across a lot.

The main reason for replenishment issues is the club not paying its bills. Again, that is one I've come across a lot and is why so many brand distributors have gone pop in the UK recently (hummel, Kappa etc)

In terms of being a priority of a brand like Oxen, they don't have any club in the same ball park as us, which is why it's obvious this is a crazy deal done by someone at the club who is mates with them. Talk is the guy who left hull kr recently did this deal when he joined city. Forget his name.

Oxen don't own a factory, they move from factory to factory, like many small brands, because they get pushed out by the big boys. This leads to the bad consistency in sizing and quality Leeds rhino's and hull kr fans will highlight.
Most brands don't own their own. This is why the brand I owned half of moved quick to buy its own in Pakistan as you're in full control. That factory makes for Nike, fila, vx3, hummed, kappa and champion. There are hundreds in the same part of Pakistan, Sialkot, which make a huge percentage of the sportswear market along with China, Bangladesh and Turkey.

Get into what? Kits? They make a ton of cash selling fashion, I'm not sure paying a club millions to make their shirts would really increase their market share in fashion.
Fashions about being out there
Differerent aint it

Cat walks and all that
Out the box jim

Who are Sudu Jim they seem to have done a nice job for Wolves ?
The company that owns wolves formed that brand mate. Hence them only having one club. It's just them making their own gear effectively. Which is why Acun has missed a trick in my opinion. I spoke to one of his gang at Pompey away last season as I was in the directors box and told them about our factory which has a license to make kappa. He took my card but never rang.

The kappa licensee could make shirts for about £7 in Pakistan. That's delivered. Selling at £55 that is one hell of a margin in football retail. I don't know where they made them last two years but I'm guessing it wasn't making him money otherwise he would still be doing it.
