I really don't care if it takes some time building to get to the premier league. I don't even think I'd be disappointed if KLD missed his mark with his five year plan.

But keeping people patient requires positive steps. They now need to make those positive steps.

I hope they have moved on from Still and are now working on hiring a coach who wants to be here, who wants to develop young players. Anything less will feel like a mistake.

I think I'm now having serious misgivings over Speakman's place at the club. For me, he has this window to turn the momentum around and if he can't we need to look for someone who can put the vision into practice.

Fair comments. It's definitely a vital turning point for the club and everyone involved in key decision making.

My thinking is very much along the same lines as you. Speakman's signings of players capable of stepping up to Championship level while we were in League One were very good. Since we've gone up to the Championship, he hasn't been successful in adding the type of players we need to keep making positive steps.

My worry is that we may need a more experienced DOF for this level and beyond. He may prove me wrong this summer, but I agree that this is his last chance saloon.

Look mate, with what's come out today, you've been vindicated. It sounds like your source was almost totally correct. The only deviation was that Still was sent a contract to sign and didn't - he hadn't actually signed. As far as the club were aware at that time they had got their man. A spanner was thrown in to the works at the last minute by Lens.

I understand you'll be pissed off having built peoples hopes up, but the vast majority can see how close to the mark your info was.

The fact is, boards like this need people like you to feed it, or all we would get on a thread such as this would be people stating who they would like to take over, until the club finally appoint someone. That would be boring as ****. You've given us a running commentary and I for one am extremely grateful to you for that and hope that you continue to enhance the experience for everyone on this board for years to come.

End of the day the club has let the fans down again

They keep telling us sac will be this, safc will be this and so far most of the time failed to deliver

Speakman’s position is untenable

Either way you shouldn't stop posting, always come across as a decent bloke and not a bullshitter. Things change and the decent posters on here will accept that!
