I asked the lad who's been 'updating me' to ask wtf was going on.

He still says the club have an agreement with Still ...

... this is the same person who tipped me off, in advance, about the SOL modernisation and the kit changes.

If this turns out to be totally incorrect I'll stick to the Mr RAWhite thread in future.

It was good fun, for a while, but it's just tedious now.
No reason for any poster to go into hiding if this doesn’t come off, if you take it all with a pinch of salt it’s been entertaining if nout else haha, hopefully it’ll come to a positive conclusion soon, if not no big deal

Well, they've got someone, whether he was their best choice,we don't know. If we'd appointed Hecky 3 weeks ago,we'd have been decisive, got our man and no messing around.....but.....would it be the right decision?

you can say was it the right decision about anyone, but what is evident is that other clubs have spent considerably less time (see West ham - Plymouth - Norwich) in speaking to people they deciding who they want and getting it done within days

Then there is us who have had nothing sorted for four weeks since the season finished

Regardless of who comes in the off field stuff has to improve massively

Its the way of the world (or internet ) mate. Any negative news is taken as gospel anything positive is picked apart and dismissed.
Some posters on RTG are absolutely wallowing in it. Makes me wonder why some people bother getting out of bed in the morning if everything is so ****e.

I'm staying away from there......it'll tip me over the edge.<laugh>

I guarantee if this doesn't come off, the club will be criticised by those same folk asking why we've spent "100 days messing around" when it's highly likely Still is playing us off against other clubs. Some folk think it's like a game of Football Manager

Listen,I'm as fed up with the delay as anyone, but comparison with other clubs in the assumption they've got it right and we haven't, isn't wise.

If it does happen and we get Still - who has been widely regarded as the number one target since Mowbray left, the club should get criticized, The process should not take 6 weeks (when Still left his last job)

Any one of the three clubs you mention could end up getting rid before Christmas.....in fact,in one case, it wouldn't be a shock if it's well before then.

100% by the way that if Still doesn't come off, @Magnus or anyone should not feel like they have to stay away or not post again. The insight into what's going on at the club, even if it doesn't come to fruition as an outcome, brings so much to the forum
If @Magnus is denied, I still loved his cool-headed conviction.

Rubberface would've been banned five times by now

Norwich definitely got who they wanted and did it quickly. They sacked Wagner less than 2 weeks ago, Thorups season finished on Sunday, by Tuesday it was in the media that he was being appointed and it's official by Thursday.

Considering all we have to go off is the word of ITKs on this board, who I appreciate all post in good faith and absolutely shouldn't refrain from posting if they are wrong on this, it's no surprise people lose their heads at any article/tweet from any journo about the situation because there is a news vacuum and people are desperate for info.

not assuming they have got it right no one knows that we cant predict the future - what i am saying is they have gone and go who THEY wanted and who they think is right in and they have done it nice quickly

Completely agree with this.

I find the "100 days without a manager" stuff slightly tedious as well. Technically we still had a Head Coach 3 weeks ago as it was Dodds until the end of the season. He wasn't really a caretaker as he was formally announced as being in the role until the end of the season, rather than open ended.

My only concern is that this period now should have moved more quickly, IMO. I think if it was going to be Still it would have happened by now. I think he's keeping his options open and its us being patient waiting for him, rather than us messing him around.

Of course if Still doesn't happen, we will have the most ridiculous melt down going. And thats saying something for Sunderland social media :D
