The Farioli thing is interesting. I believe that if the club felt he was the man to take us forward then they should have appointed him. I know that would have been harsh on Mogga, and there would have been uproar amongst the fanbase, but successful business is all about making the difficult decisions. As it turned out, the Farioli flirtation, the ill feeling between KS/KLD & Mogga, the alleged bust ups in America all led to the inevitable sacking and the horrific decision to appoint Beale which killed our season. They have to get this appointment right

I always thought that the Farioli thing was never as far gone as it was made out. I'd heard KLD wasn't that keen on Mowbray and I can believe was looking into possibly replacing him, but the way it came out always felt to me that we were being used to smoke out other options. I remember it being in the media that if he took over his first signing was going to be a 32 year old right back who'd only played something like 16 games that season, which just never fitted how we operate, especially with Huggins and Hume there.

I can believe that when the news broke and the backlash came out, the club paused, not due to the backlash but more than it wasn't that far along and a decision hadn't been made whether or not to replace Mowbray and they wanted to be sure it was the right decision. Farioli then moved to Nice, but as you say the relationship between Mowbray and KLD and Speakman was broken and only got worse. Beale, I think got the job at that time because we'd put all our eggs in one basket of getting Still after sacking Mowbray, but when we couldn't get the deal done and others were too difficult to complete we settled on him as available. That's why after sacking Beale they've taken their time. They need to make sure it's the right appointment, they need to make sure people are fully aligned, both the club and the coach, that flexibility and adaptability goes both ways and from the clubs side making sure there were viable proper alternatives in case the first choice didn't work out.
