I'd be disappointed with Rosenior if he was to continue with the same style of play. Such a terrible style of football, if people complained about Dodds' safe, sideways and ponderous style then Rosenior is on another level. Possession without impact.

From a data standpoint, if you are a team that averages the 5th most possession in the league like Hull did, you want your xG figures to replicate that, instead they were down in 12th. They also created less 'big chances' than we did, which is not a good sign.

The squad he had at his disposal is better than both WBA and Norwich, to not have it in the top 6 is poor.

My sense is that if you are genuinely an employee of a club, and really have sensitive info, any passing on of that to anyone outside of the circle of colleagues entitled to it is misconduct in itself. Nobody should be naieve enough to think whatever is said in a non confidential space will be kept confidential. The modern world isnt like that. I spend a lot of my working life in genuinely confidential meetings and forums and it is made clear to us before and after. If players or club officials are talking to or in front of Joe Public about club business then I appreciate the sharing to be honest. If the club dont like it, crack down on the employee.

Another of my theories is clubs, ours included, use folk to leak news and get a temperature check. I am sure club employeed look around the internet to see what sort of reactions certain rumours are getting. Mind you, must have had an internet outage the 2 or 3 days before Beale <laugh><laugh>
I know a few of the current and recently ex players fairly well (through one acquaintance), have spent a bit of time with both KLD and Speakman and I am/was friendly with Ellis Short. The one thing they all have in common, perhaps with the exception of KLD, and it never fails to surprise me, is how candidly and openly they all talk about absolutely everything! I'm always amazed that more doesn't leak as they're not shy in telling all in my experience.

Having said that, I've no idea who is in the running for the new head coach role (players don't know and I've not seen or spoken to KLD or Speakman for nigh on a year).

Not a fan of his footballing style Underlying safe and possession based Certainly not the front foot pressing game we loved under Mowbray Hull also spend relatively big last 12 months and they didn’t look great I want someone who will pick up from where Mowbray left off and move it on to the next level I want the enjoyment back and I don’t think we would get that with Rossenior

I'm not a gambler, so I've no idea whether this site is accurate but freebets.com have got Alex Rae at 4/1 and Mike Williamson and Paul Cook at 8/1 to be our next head coach.

Now, I realise that the betting odds bear no relation to reality but those are some odd names for people to betting on.

Style of play is exactly why he's been sacked. Wouldn't go anywhere near him if he wants to play that way here.

I have a gut feeling it'll be still, whether that's just hope though idk haha

Just heard it. Shyte and Boredom, along with Murphy, saying you can't get out of the Championship by playing bright, attacking and exciting football.
Looking forward to proving them wrong next season.

You can play the ponderous style if you have a Leicester/Burnley level of squad in the championship, but both of them create bucket loads of chances within their style of play, unlike Hull.

Ipswich played exciting football this season so whoever said that is a bit of an idiot.

I don't know. I think in some circumstances betrayals of personal trust can lead to leaks. Everybody needs to let off steam and sometimes says too much to someone they think they can trust.

Personally, I'm not that keen on it although there are a handful of people I'd take notice of. I think rumours posted online aren't always helpful. I mean, 95% of Sunderland supporters who can access the Internet (there are maybe still a couple of fellas hiding in forests in Burma who are wondering when they'll next find out how Bobby Gurney and the lads are getting on) believe that the next coach is going to be Still or Maric. But if its not, there are going to be a lot of very disappointed people and I wouldn’t like it if that led to another Michael Beale situation. I also think that we've seen evidence of personal animosities creeping into 'itk' information and that can lead to other people developing an unfair or not wholly accurate picture of figures associated with the club.

Good post mate. We can't have another Beale situation here. It'll set us back.
However,I think we have to factor in the propensity of the human to very often be unable to resist the opportunity to impart some information they have alighted upon...beit news or gossip..which supports their point of view...to someone else. It happens all the time in everyday life...this forum will be no different.

Seemed to get them plenty of points though and he was popular with the fans throughout. I don't buy it that his squad was any better than those above him, all the teams in the top ten have quality players.

Besides as we all know it's not as simple as chucking good players at a manager, they have to know how to use them and get the best out of them.

Players like Delap and Carvalho had unsuccessful loans spells before they went to Hull. It shouldn't be dismissed if you can give a manager good players and he has them playing to their potential. We could certainly do with some of that.

Agree but sometimes there's an agenda, tainting the information being shared. We all need to take the itk info with a pinch of salt

Of course, you are correct in what you say. I just really dislike the style of play and unless we have a complete overhaul of our squad which I can't see happening we don't suit his style. Our impatient lot wouldn't take to the style either.

He is a great bloke, stands up for what is right and was great when on sky a few years back, I just think he doesn't fit.

Lasses in the ticket off told me they have to sign confidential forms and are never to repeat anything they know.

I wonder how wedded he is to that style of play, he took over when they were in danger of relegation and it would have been foolish to attempt an expansive style of play, could be that he went with a pragmatic approach initially and intended to gradually move away from it. Got sacked for it but maybe the owner's a chump who doesn't know what's best.

If he took over at Arsenal (hypothetically) would he want them playing dull but effective football or would he be intelligent enough to recognise it doesn't suit them and adapt?

I'm also looking at him in comparison with Still and the other bloke whose name escapes me. People seem keen on them but it's based on very little. With Rosenior you've got a coach that you can be as confident as you can be that if you give him a decent team in the championship he'll have them in or around the playoffs.
